A little lesson I learned today…

Sometimes supporting someone does not mean saving them.

Sometimes it means stepping back from the role of rescuer and becoming one of the many cheerleaders they need.

A cheerleader does not take over the race. She does not make every decision, remove every consequence, or carry someone else’s whole life.

She reminds them:

You can do this.
Your next choice matters.
I see the effort you are making.
Keep going.

There is a real difference between rescuing someone and believing in them.

Today, I was reminded that my role is not always to fix the problem. Sometimes my role is simply to stand nearby, celebrate every honest step forward, and keep pointing toward hope.

We all need people like that.

And we can all be that person for someone else. 💛
