That ZERO drought exists across the entire Great Lakes region is excellent news, but the majority of the country can't say the same.
Look at the drought monitor when we zoom out of our region 😳 The growing El Niño (which is barreling toward "super" status) will ultimately help out west, though the south could stay mostly dry.
And while impacts from the El Niño pattern won't be dramatically felt this summer, I would expect a sudden shift to drier conditions over the next few months. Fall in particular is likely to be much warmer and drier for our neck of the woods!
In other words, it won't stay this wet for long.
