Hello, my quilty peeps! Have you ever tried making Dresden Plates?

I did, and I quickly designed a whole quilt of 'em!

I plan on having this done by June 30, just in time to submit it to the Great Wisconsin Quilt Show .

Fabrics are Benartex's Shadow Blush basics collection. Swipe to see the exact colors I'm using -->

Maybe this will be an intermediate/advanced quilt pattern one day.

Take care and happy sewing & creating, my friends. Stay weird xo -R 🤪

Hello, my quilty peeps. My showcase of my postcard patterns for Villa Rosa Designs continues Head to my BLOG to skip the wait and see all (now 28!) cards I've had published so far!!

I'll be posting them in order of publication; next up is "Viroqua". It's 42" x 48" and is yardage based!

Cover quilt fabric is Benartex's Superior Solids basics collection. I've lost count of the number of quilts I've made with Superior Solids.

I have had the pleasure of designing 4″ x 6″ postcards for Villa Rosa Designs for two years now . Head to my shop (link in bio) to purchase your copy with FREE domestic shipping. Signed copies are available upon request!

It's been such a great experience. The most surprising aspect of this format is condensing an ENTIRE quilt pattern into a 3.75" x 5.75" area...such a CHALLENGE when you're used to unlimited digital pages!!

Stay tuned for more designs to follow in the future!

Take care and happy sewing & creating, my friends. Stay weird xo -R 🤪

Hello, my quilty peeps.

I joined Tara Faughnan's Block Studies Collective Season 3 back in October.

Here's my block from Month 1 - Crosswalk.

My blocks from Month 4 - Shattered are becoming a larger project. Stay tuned.

I had hoped to keep up with this course, but alas...the majority of the techniques and/or blocks just weren't my jam.

Take care and happy sewing & creating, my friends. Stay weird xo -R 🤪

Hello, my quilty peeps!

The past few months, I've been focusing on supporting my local community. I've joined the local Lion's Club and am working to help raise funds towards restoring the historic Wonewoc City Hall and converting it a colorful community center.

I have volunteered to organize a Quilt Block Drive to create a quilt (or quilts!) to auction at a later date.

Here's the details:

* Make a 12-1/2" square quilt block using ANY PATTERN.

* Blocks should use shades of a SINGLE color on a NEUTRAL background.

*Drop completed blocks off at the Wonewoc Public Library OR at Red Dot Quilt Supplies in Reedsburg, WI.

* OR send completed blocks to Rachelle's address shown in the pics.

*Quilt will be assembled and auctioned at a later date.

* Auction proceeds will benefit the future Wonewoc Art Center and Museum.

*Monetary donations are also welcome to offset supply costs! Go Fund Me page can be found at:

I recently had the pleasure of working with Lisa Swenson Ruble's new fabric collection, "Nature Unfiltered" by Benartex fabrics...

I made a super fun jumbo tote bag covered in sparkling stars, little leaves, and tiny puddles.

The description on Benartex's website says it all..."In our busy world, it’s easy to overlook details in nature that we see everyday...nature at its best, unfiltered and bright."
