OLIVE CAT'S THIS AND THAT
~ Mary Rapsas Hague ~
It all started when two people fell in love and decided to get married....
A few years ago, I was on the hunt for the perfect pair of earrings to go with my pearl necklace that I planned on wearing to my nephew’s wedding. The closest match of pearls that I could find were attached to a broken, tangled mess of a necklace I found at Burlington C
oat Factory. I bought it and brought it home to take apart. Dana, my husband, gave me a set of tools that he had in the garage, I reworked the chain, pearls and crystals and attached them to some earring wires and Abra Kadabra! My first pair of earrings!!! I thought, “Wow, that was fun... and look, they came out pretty good.”
I continued my new found craft by making earrings for friends and family. I get such JOY by seeing them smile at my little creations :)
My little hobby has now become an obsession! I spend hours upon hours, mixing and matching beads and charms, making earring after earring. Oh, how I get excited when the mailman drops off a new package of shiny beads or charms!! Recently, Dana, noticed my boxes and boxes of earrings and said, “You gotta start selling these things, Mare!”. I really don’t want to part with them....Hahaha! I said to him, “If you make me the displays, I’ll start getting rid of them.” It seemed like a flash! He had the displays made to my specifications and now, I gotta keep my word, it’s time sell. I hope that you enjoy my little creations
