Has your summer container seen better days? Give it a little refresh with Heucheras, Heucherellas, or Tiarellas.

These easygoing perennials have colorful, evergreen foliage that keeps the garden looking good through the seasons, plus spring flowers that hummingbirds love. Heucherellas also have a nice trailing habit, making them a great choice for spilling over the edge of a container.

Give them morning sun and a little afternoon shade, and they’ll keep bringing color long after summer is over.

Looking for some late-summer color? Summer Lilac (Butterfly Bush) and Bluebeard are two of Peter’s favorites for a sunny spot, and it’s easy to see why.

Summer Lilac can grow 8–10 feet tall, with silvery-blue foliage and tall spikes of lilac-purple blooms. Bluebeard stays a little more compact, with deep blue flowers and foliage that can range from blue-green to bright gold, depending on the variety.

Both are drought tolerant, low fuss, and bring plenty of color to the garden when you need it most. Two pretty great picks from Peter.

🍄 Add a little woodland charm to your decor! These teak wood mushrooms are each handcrafted, so every one has its own shape, texture, and personality.

Tuck them into your favorite plants, add them to your porch, or bring them indoors for a fun little touch of forest magic. Their warm, natural wood tones are perfect for adding a little touch of fall as we head into the new season. 🍂

Looking for a colorful, low-maintenance addition to the garden? Echinacea ‘Cheyenne Spirit’ brings a whole mix of sunset shades, from rich reds and oranges to purples, yellows, creams, and whites.

Even better, these drought-tolerant coneflowers keep the color coming from summer well into fall. They’re also a favorite with pollinators, making them a great choice for a sunny spot in the garden.

Plant once, enjoy the color for months.

Summer might still be in full swing, but a little fall color is already starting to sneak into the garden. From changing leaves to blooms that bring those warm autumn tones, it’s a reminder that the seasons are always shifting.

And while we’re enjoying those first hints of fall, the bees are still busy doing their thing. Keep those pollinator-friendly plants blooming and give them a reason to stick around a little longer.

It’s one of our favorite times in the garden, when summer is still here but fall is starting to make an appearance.

Want summer color that brings the hummingbirds with it? Hardy fuchsias are a great choice. Their long-lasting blooms add plenty of color to the garden, especially in shady spots where they really shine.

Keep them watered and plant them in well-draining soil, and you’ll have blooms to enjoy throughout the summer.

Prayer plants are an easy one to add to your houseplant collection. They like bright, indirect light, evenly moist soil, and a little extra humidity.

Then, when evening rolls around, something pretty cool happens. Their leaves fold upward, almost like little hands in prayer. This natural movement is called nyctinasty and helps the plant conserve moisture overnight.

We love a plant with a little personality.
