Three things this week.
First the hotel is paid off and I got the flyers back for CHUD October 25th. I will be starting to put them out this week.
Second we got a visitor from the past. Chris Marks who used to run Comic World in Moorestown stopped by. He lives down south now and came up ( not just to see me) and he brought me an EVIL T Shirt.
Lastly- I snapped this week.
In the shop on Saturday. Guy comes in. Nice car. Expensive shoes. I recognize him. Looks at the wall books. Do you have any more? I dig a box out. Looks at prices on his phone. I wait. I remember.
This is the same S.O.B. at the Vintage show in January who took a thousand dollars worth of books off my wall and offered me $400. Pi**ed me off. I could have used that grand. Showing off before his long suffering girlfriend. Cold that day too. Ice in the parking lot of the Cherry Hill Armory. I was just kicked out of the store on 45 and was paying for 2 storage containers. I thought that show would help me out. I didn’t.
And I had great books too.
And I knew what was coming. I was getting hot.
So when he said”I will give you $60 Dollars for this book ( That wasn’t marked at $60,) I said one word.
“NO!”
And put his books away.
Told him I remembered how he tried to beat me up in January.
“You could say”I respectfully-I decline your offer.”
I replied”I DECLINE YOUR OFFER”.
He leaves with his tail between his legs and hopefully never to return.
( I wonder if this has anything to do with Mark closing last week. His knuckleheads looking for another place to go.)
I look around the shop afterwards- there were people there who heard me go off. One kid said” Bill, I thought you were so chill.”
I watch a lot of movies. Last month I saw Lloyd Nolan in a Michael Shayne movie about diamond smuggling called Blue, White, and Perfect.
At one point in the movie his girlfriend who has treated badly(Promised to marry her, lied to her and stole from her” calls him a insult you don’t hear much anymore-Pinhead!
Maybe I will calm down by CHUD.
