In RC, good soldering creates strong, low-resistance connections for motor leads, ESCs, battery connectors, sensor cables, and PCB repairs. Weak joints generate heat, reduce efficiency, and may damage components or create fire risks.

Week 3: Safety and Maintenance & Core Techniques
1. Work in a well-ventilated area to reduce flux fumes.
2. Keep the soldering station away from flammable materials.
3. Store solder and flux in a cool, dry place to limit oxidation.
4. Control Heat: Heat the joint, not the solder, so it melts evenly without overheating parts.
5. Clean Surfaces: Strip and clean wire ends before soldering; flux helps remove oxidation.
6. Keep Parts Steady: Use a clamp or helper for small or delicate joints.
7. Tin the Iron: Lightly coat the tip with solder before starting to improve flow.
