SOLDER MATTERS
In RC, good soldering creates strong, low-resistance connections for motor leads, ESCs, battery connectors, sensor cables, and PCB repairs. Weak joints generate heat, reduce efficiency, and may damage components or create fire risks.
Week 1: Essential Tools
• Iron: Use a 70–100W adjustable-temperature iron for better control.
• Solder: Choose 60/40 rosin-core solder, lead-free or leaded as regulations allow.
• Flux: Clean surfaces and help solder flow smoothly.
• Helpers: Keep wire cutters, st*****rs, and a clamp-type solder helper handy to hold wires steady.
• Tip: Use a fine tip for small joints, and keep it clean and tinned.
Pro tip: Practice on scrap wire before working on your RC. It builds muscle memory and confidence, helping you complete most RC soldering jobs safely and efficiently.
