How y’all doin, my friends and colleagues? I get to roll out my southern accent cause we’re in Southwest France. Thinking of making an U G comeback but I need y’all to weigh in on some stuff before I commit. See, as many of you know, Denny (my darling husband of 45 years) and I high-tailed it out of Woodbury CT in June of 2024 knowing full well what was coming to the US. It’s not a good feeling to have been so right. Anyway, sold it all…the inventory, the house and property, the apartments, and arrived (never to return) on July 1, 2024. The first year was largely taken up be the sudden death of two dear friends , and then a third spent 3 months in hospital. That and doing French paperwork for all 3 of us plus French and US taxes took up most of the year. We also decided our house in Tournon suited my aging knees and we wanted a garden. Last Friday we closed on an 17th-18C farmhouse with a big old leaky barn, piggery, original oven building and some pretty amazing views all on a little over 2 acres. No near neighbors either. Question is, would you be interested to see how at our advanced ages 771 and 79), we are gonna tackle the huge project ahead of us and follow along through the trials a tru elations of a real country reno? I forgot to say we also have a 13thc defensive tower that is only stone, roof and beams at present to restore. Lemme know what you think! Oh one more thing. No Trumpers or MAGAts allowed here.
