Look what just fell right into The Old Hope Chest! Part of a larger collection, this is the first ever movie shown at Grauman's Chinese Theater, King of Kings premiered on May 18, 1927. Things like this just don't exist anymore. Simply unbelievable.

Having 12 pristine, sun shiny, Hazel Atlas lemon peel mugs is a good Easter move. But having them with a vintage damask pattern quilted vinyl storage box... definitely better!

Fun fact. Actually, two of them. The sterling silver standard means that for an object to be sterling, it must be 92.5% silver. This is why sterling is often marked 925 French silver, however, has two purity guarantees : 80% and 95%. You can tell the difference because our French silversmiths mark silver with the profile of the goddess, Minerva. She'll either have the numeral 1 by her forehead, or a 2 by her chin. This cup is 95% silver. More pure than sterling!

Also, the maker was Emile Puiforcat. The Puiforcat company is now owned by Hermès! So not all silver marked EP is electroplated! Look for a teeeeny tiiiinyy E, a pen knife, and P inside of a diamond shape. That is the Puiforcat mark used since 1820!
