From a fairly young age, Monica would purchase jewelry that wasn’t exactly what she wanted and ask her jeweler to modify it slightly to reflect her personal style. Friends and family would notice the jewelry that she had “designed”, and would ask her to make a piece for themselves. After designing many pieces in this way, and after numerous trips to her jeweler, it became clear that this little ho
bby had become much more than that. In 2005, with no formal education in gemology or jewelry design, Monica opened “Indulge” and began selling to a small group of friends and friends of friends. Over the past 5 years the business has grown and Monica has expanded her offerings to include jewelery in a variety of styles. She has become quite knowledgeable by learning from the experts that actually make her jewelry, and from listening to her clients. As much as Monica likes to create custom pieces, she has developed a clientele that continues to look to her sense of style and design skills in modifying existing pieces. These clients bring in their older pieces, such as jewelry handed down from parents or grandparents, or simply pieces that are no longer being worn and ask Monica to adapt them to stylish piece that they can wear proudly. Monica derives great pleasure in bringing these sentimental pieces back to life. Monica’s talent lies in her natural ability to stylize and translate her clients needs into unique pieces of fine jewelry and sharing with her clients her passion and life long love affair with jewelry.
