I set out this year to challenge myself. One of the things I wanted to work on was improving my colorwork. This is my attempt at Jamie Lomax's Haunted Doodle sock pattern, worked up in some of my Back to Basics solids and a few scraps of solids from the sock kits. I have to tell you, it is not going well. My tension is a mess, there's a ghost missing an eye, and there's a rogue orange stitch hiding in a white section that I've decided to just let live there. It turns out my usually even tension does not come naturally in stranded colorwork, so this has been humbling. I'll probably finish this one just for the practice, then give it another go with a new set of needles and a different stitch count. The pattern is too cute not to try again. Anyone else's colorwork attempts go like this? I'd love to know I'm not alone.
