Home Sweet Home 🤍🏡
After 33 days away, Thursday was finally the day I got to come home.
I went back to the hospital in Boston for my final appointments and was officially cleared to fly. ✈️ My liver has already regenerated to about 70% in just four weeks! Praise God! 🙏🏻
I hugged my incredible surgery team {and Mom} so tightly. These people became such an important part of my story, and I will forever be grateful for the love and care they gave me.
Saying goodbye to Jackie was a completely different kind of goodbye. My heart was broken leaving her behind. She has since been admitted to the ICU with double pneumonia, very low oxygen levels, and may need blood transfusions. Please keep her covered in prayer. 🙏🏻❤️
I wanted to see her walk out of that hospital. I wanted to see her come home. Not getting to see that part of her journey has absolutely gutted me. But I believe with everything in me that her story isn’t over. Her road may be longer and harder, but I believe she is going to get there. ❤️
My flight was delayed over and over, but finally at 2 AM, my sweet husband was waiting for me. There are no words for that moment. ❤️
And then… I came home.
To flowers, a giant WELCOME HOME banner, balloons, my babies, and the man who held everything together while I was gone. 🥹❤️
My heart is so full.
Now I’ll keep healing, praying, trusting, sleeping {a LOT 😂}, and believing the best is still ahead.
Home sweet home.
33 days. A lifetime of gratitude
