Should we be concerned about the comments His Holiness the Dalai Lama made about the appearance of a female successor?

Having a female successor is no small matter, so it is possible that His Holiness is taking the focus off the important matter by these odd comments on an unimportant factor. Or perhaps he is simply stating a time-limited, historically constrained fact: in today's times, being attractive seems more important to many people than being deeply enlightened.
Most likely, in my opinion, is that His Holiness Is saying, with his usual impish humor, that he will do better in terms of appearance in the incarnation he chooses ... next time!
The Buddhist leader also rehashed past controversial comments about refugees in his latest BBC interview.
