🌿 STORY SALE TOMORROW! 🌿

Tomorrow afternoon, I’ll be posting the handful of plants I have left + THREE prop boxes full of goodies! Everything will be priced, but I’m open to fair offers, some of these guys have been hanging around and dealing with a little neglect from me lately šŸ˜‚ so I’d love to get them into new homes!

I’m also officially closing out the TAJ storage unit and still have some random shop goodies PLUS bins full of faux greenery & boxwood squares left from my plant wall days.

Rather than getting rid of it all, I’d LOVE to turn some of it into discounted faux plant walls or botanical art pieces for your home or business. 🌿 Custom designs are still available too for an additional cost, I haven’t lost it all yet šŸ˜‚ the skills are still here!

Plant walls were actually such a fun creative outlet for me, and I’d love an excuse to make a few more.

So…this is what I’ve been quietly working on.

If I’m being completely honest, these first few pictures are a little embarrassing.

Life happened. Somewhere between work, family, and just trying to keep my head above water, my yard became overgrown. One day we finally decided to stop stressing about it, tore everything out, and gave ourselves a fresh slate.

That’s where all of this started.

First came the vegetable garden. Then my tea and apothecary garden, filled with herbs I’ve wanted to grow for years. Those are mostly done, just a little cleanup and mulch left.

Then…the goth garden happened. šŸ˜‚šŸ–¤

Well…it started to happen.

I rototilled the area, immediately decided it needed a little pond, and now I have plants scattered everywhere while I try to figure out where they all belong. It’s organized chaos, but I can finally see the vision.

The truth is, these gardens have become so much more than gardening.

Tomorrow is my yearly mammogram, and it’s also been three years since I finished chemo for triple-negative breast cancer. The fear never really leaves…it just gets a little louder before appointments, scans, and while waiting for results.

Maybe that’s why I’ve poured so much of myself into these gardens. When my mind gets loud, I come out here. I dig, I plant, I w**d, and for a little while, everything else gets quiet.

So tomorrow, if you happen to think of me, I’d happily take all the crossed fingers, prayers, good vibes, and good juju you can spare. šŸ¤

And yes…I already know my lawn needs some love too. šŸ˜‚ One project at a time!

Now I need your help…

šŸ–¤ If you have a goth garden, tag me! I need all the inspiration!

It’s kind of wild to look back at where this little room started.

What used to be a little back porch that had seen much better days is now becoming the space I’ve dreamed about for so long.

When W&R was just an idea in my head, I pictured an old apothecary filled with herbs, loose leaf tea, books, and all the little curiosities that make a space feel magical. I just wasn’t sure how we’d ever get there.

I’m pretty sure my husband thought I was a little nuts (as he usually does šŸ˜…), but as always, he supported all of my nonsense and shenanigans anyway. Somehow, he has this way of taking the crazy ideas in my head and turning them into something real.

Since closing our physical space, I’ve felt a little…out of sorts. I didn’t realize how much I missed having a place that felt like mine…a place to decompress, create, and escape the everyday chaos for a little while.

There’s still plenty to do. The shelves need to finish being filled, little treasures are waiting to be collected, and there are so many finishing touches that will make this space truly feel like W&R

But for the first time in what feels like a long time, I have my little escape back.

This is where I drink my tea, dream up new ideas, lose myself in ideas, and somehow always end up planning another project. It’s where I’ve spent the last few weeks sketching out three very different gardens that I can’t wait to share with you.

Sometimes peace isn’t found…sometimes you build it.

And thanks to one very patient husband, I finally have mine. šŸ¤šŸŒæ

šŸŒæšŸ–¤ The shelves are filling up. šŸ–¤šŸŒæ

Over the past couple of years, I’ve spent countless hours learning, experimenting, blending, and discovering the world of herbs and tea. Along the way, one herb led to another, then another, and before I knew it, the shelves started filling up.

Some are familiar. Some sound like they belong in an old apothecary tucked away at the edge of the woods.

The funny thing is, while they all look beautiful sitting on the shelves, most of them eventually find their way into a tea blend.

šŸµ Lavender becomes a moment of calm.
🌹 Rose finds its way into matters of the heart.
🌿 Peppermint brightens the day.
✨ And sometimes the most unexpected herbs become favorites.

I’m always learning, always blending, and always looking for the next herb that sparks my curiosity.

šŸŒ™ If there was one herb, flower, root, or botanical you’ve always been curious about, what would it be?

You never know what might find its way onto the shelves… or into your next cup of tea.

šŸ“– The current herb list is in the comments. It’s a growing collection, and I’ll keep updating it as new herbs find their way to Wren & Root.

šŸŒ™ A closer look…

I’ve been quietly gathering treasures for this raffle basket, and I think it’s finally time to reveal what’s hiding inside.

A mug to remind you that you’re beautiful.

Tea for slowing down and taking a moment for yourself.

Crystals that catch the light in unexpected ways.

A rooted Philodendron Gabby ready for its next chapter.

A candle, a tea book, botanical treasures, and a few curious surprises.

Tucked inside is a note explaining why each piece was chosen and the intention behind it.

This basket wasn’t assembled from a checklist. It was gathered one treasure at a time, the same way Wren & Root has always been built.

If you haven’t entered yet, there’s still time.

🌿 Something new is brewing at Wren & Root…

I’ve been missing the thrill of the hunt, the moment you stumble across something that’s just too good to leave behind.

So I’ve been toying with an idea:

Wren’s Finds After Dark

Every Friday evening, I’ll share a small collection of moody plants, curious finds, apothecary treasures, vintage gems, and whatever other oddities happen to catch my eye throughout the week.

No giant inventory.
No overflowing greenhouse.
No pressure.

Just beautiful things I couldn’t leave behind.

Think:

🌿 Goth plants & unusual begonias
ā˜• Tea & herbal treasures
šŸ”® Crystals & curiosities
šŸ“š Vintage-inspired finds
šŸ„ The occasional oddity that simply had to come home with me

Before I start wandering greenhouses, thrift stores, and hidden corners of New England with a basket and absolutely zero self-control…

šŸŒ™ And keep an eye out… I may have a little giveaway coming to celebrate the start of this new adventure.

I have a feeling this is going to be fun.

Went for a walk and actually slowed down enough to notice things 🌿

Ferns starting to uncurl.
Moss coming back to life.
Water moving again.

And then I saw three white tailed deer 🦌✨

I fully believe the universe sends signs when you need them… so of course I looked it up after šŸ‘€

A lot of what I found talked about things like
spiritual awakening, transformation, and trusting your intuition ✨
and the number three representing growth, balance, and alignment.

And honestly… that hit.

Because that’s exactly where I feel like I am right now.

Everything shifting. Everything rebuilding.
Learning to trust myself more instead of forcing things.

Everything around me is waking up again…
and I think I am too 🌿✨

Has anything like this ever happened to you?

I’ve really been enjoying this shift with my family šŸ–¤šŸŒæ

A wren is a small brown songbird.
Not flashy, easy to miss if you’re not paying attention… but they’re known for being loud for their size, constantly moving, building nests wherever they can, and adapting to whatever’s around them.

They don’t wait for perfect conditions — they just keep going.

That part stuck with me.

Because that’s exactly where I’m at right now.

This didn’t just come from wanting to make tea blends…
it came from wanting to take better care of myself, and eventually help other people do the same.

I’m a full-time nursing student, a mom, a wife, a caregiver… and somewhere in all of that I realized I also really missed community, building something to share and creating something that actually helps people.

Behind the scenes, we’ve built up a pretty solid apothecary base, around 100 different dried herbs and 20+ tea blends so far.

I developed the blends with a good friend who’s taught me a lot, and I’ve been taking my time actually learning what I’m working with instead of just throwing things together.

Over the next few weeks I’ll be working on launching our website, packaging, branding, building out our little apothecary space, and finishing up semester 2 (I’m almost 50% a nurse y’all šŸ˜…)

So Wren & Root is all of that… just being built in real time.
