yesterday i finally got over losing the beloved Pawtucket Red Sox to Worcester, MA a handful of years back. me and a few buddies went up to catch the Worcester Red Sox's last home game of the season and were greeted at the gates by Mr. Wooster himself Devon Kurtz! what a welcoming. and the Woosox won! and i really loved Polar Park too. i just wish it were in Rhode Island and not Worcester, Massachusetts...

thank you MLB for being on the right side of history. and this will only make the good people of your state fight harder for the rights of everyone.

Major League Baseball announced on Friday that it will relocate the 2021 All-Star Game and MLB Draft, originally scheduled to take place in Atlanta, to a to-be-determined location. The decision comes a little more than a week after the passage of S.B. 202, a Georgia law that President Joe Biden

getting excited for the 2021 baseball season? here's a 1979 Rhode Island related "HIT" vinyl record album for you. it's called "No Bass Hit" and was recorded by 2 Rhode Islanders - Woonsocket's Dave Mckenna (piano) and Providence's Scott Hamilton (saxophone player) - along with a Boston drummer in ol' Warren, Rhode Island! even the liner notes have a local tie to us here at Don't Bend My Corners Sports Cards out of N. Prov, RI. they were written by Charlie Drago identified as being from "East Side - West Side City of Providence RI.

but "where's the [bass]?"

too soon . . .

i spent all day this past Saturday glued to the screen watching the return of MLB and went from being so very happy to watch baseball again to feeling horrified at seeing more and more blatant disregard for taking precautions against the spread of COVID-19 throughout the day. everyone was live on camera so there was no way to hide those players talking face to face in the dugout with no masks, or the many times i saw masks being worn improperly (if you don't cover your nose the mask is useless). so while i was ecstatic to see real live baseball games again, my bet would be on the just-started season being shut down before we know it because it just isn't safe to do so amidst what's likely the worst to come with the pandemic. this is what happens when there is no national leadership, when profits are put before safety. if it were up to me, the next ballgame should happen in 2021, not today.

This is what happens when you deny the reality of an unprecedented public health crisis

a big hello to all the quarantined baseball umpires out there. Don't Bend My Corners Sports Cards loves umps. if they were in charge of handling the COVID-19 pandemic they'd be great at it - they'd either strike it out or sweep it away with their brushes. heck, they already have masks . . .

well, this is kinda crazy. Don't Bend My Corners Sports Cards has always been a fan of the oddities and weird variations of cards that have come out over the years. well, not sure we're cheering this one on, as it, by coincidence, pictures the Murdering Menendez Brothers, but it's worth mentioning . . .

A previously nondescript 1990-91 Hoops basketball card featuring guard Mark Jackson of the New York Knicks has gone viral because of surprising new buzz about the card's background...
