Field Service Technician Job Description
The following is a list of the duties that will pertain to the job. This is not wholly inclusive as duties will be added as the employee progresses within the company.
A field service technician is responsible for providing service and customer support during field visits and dispatches. A few of the main duties of a field service technician are managing all on-site installations, repairs, and maintenance. Diagnosing technical problems and determining proper solutions. Building relationships with customers, and following company procedures.
A field service technician should have two years of experience in a similar role as well as a High School diploma or GED equivalent. Willing to train motivated individuals. One of the most important skills that a field service technician will have is great attention to detail. Beneficial but not required skills are the ability to read schematics and writing diagrams. Field service technicians will have to work independently at the customer's establishment or house and will need to be able to work unsupervised.
Qualifications for Field Service Technician
Be prompt, courteous well groomed, polite, attentive, self-motivated
Have a clean driving record and reliable transportation to work
Be able to legally work in the United States
Be able to pass a criminal background and drug test. Testing will also be done at random.
High school diploma or GED equivalent
Ability to lift up to 100 pounds or more
Ability to stand on your feet up to 8 hours a day
Great communication skills to work with customers
Amazing problem solving skills
Ability to diagnose problems with equipment
Great mechanical aptitude
Ability to communicate in English
Be able to provide job references
