The shop has been BUSY.

A few new rustic creations have officially joined the AJD lineup, just in time for fall!

We’ve got chunky wooden pumpkins, a little Halloween crew, a pretty impressive w**e bottle holder and Knotted Family is growing!

Our Knotted Family collection now has even more ways to build your crew. Couples, families, kiddos and even the four legged members. Each one is handmade, so no two are quite the same.

Rustic. A little quirky. Definitely AJD.

Introducing: Knotted Together

Because families come in all shapes, sizes…and levels of chaos.

Build yours however it looks…adults, kids, dogs, cats or any combination that makes your crew complete. Each Knotted Together family is handcrafted from wood, connected with rustic rope and can be personalized just for you.

Adults — $10 each
Kids — $5 each
Dogs & Cats — $5 each

Two adults and four dogs? Yep.
Grandma and all the grandkids? Absolutely.
Just you and the cat who actually runs the house? We get it.

Innsbrook, we’re coming for you!

We may have gotten a little carried away in the workshop getting ready for the Innsbrook Craft and Vendor Event.

Cutting boards, candles, a little sass, fall favorites, spooky season and even a little Christmas — we’ve been making ALL the things.

And check out those ghosts — the glasses AND the “BOO” glow in the dark. Because regular ghosts just weren’t extra enough for us.

And somehow… this still isn’t everything we’re bringing.

Fresh out of the AJD workshop.

Three new boards, three completely different looks and every one is handcrafted from real wood.

The Classic — Walnut, cherry & maple | 23.25” × 14.25”
Blue River — Walnut & blue resin | 19” × 11.5”
Smoked Walnut — Charred walnut | 18.5” × 7.5”

No stain creating those gorgeous colors. Just the natural beauty of the wood, a little creativity, and a whole lot of time in the shop.

Nope. We don’t stain them.

One of the questions we hear most about our cutting boards is whether we use stain to create all those different colors.

The answer is no. Those colors come straight from the wood.

Walnut brings the deep brown.
Cherry gives us those warm reddish tones.
Maple keeps things light and creamy.
Purpleheart really IS naturally purple.
And Padauk brings that gorgeous reddish-orange.

John chooses different combinations of hardwoods to create each board, which means the grain, color and pattern are a little different every single time.

And now he’s adding something new to the mix…

Wenge is coming soon.

Dark. Bold. Beautiful grain. And we cannot wait to see what he creates with it.

No stain. Just really pretty wood.

Sunday in the AJD workshop looked a little something like this…

A little fall.
A little spooky.
A little glow-in-the-dark.
A couple of beautiful cutting boards.
And apparently absolutely no ability to just make ONE thing.

Some days we have a plan. Other days we just start making things and see where it takes us.

Everything you see here was made by us today — cut, painted, sanded, assembled, engraved and probably changed at least once along the way.
