After working on a small tree crew for 7 years, swinging around in trees working with chainsaws, Martin Maudal began hand picking beautiful woods from the trees he cut - maple, walnut, ash, alder, cherry, sycamore, apricot, plum and many other great instrument woods that are native (or transplanted varieties) to the Claremont Ca area. "I like to leave certain reminders in the guitars I build of the fact that these instruments are created from living things. Not just living, but living eco-systems in and of themselves."
