💧 Trying to figure out what GSM actually means when you’re shopping for cloth diaper absorbency? Let’s break it down 👇🏻
GSM stands for grams per square meter & tells you the weight/density of the fabric. When comparing similar absorbent materials, a higher GSM generally means more absorbency potential!
So how do you use GSM when choosing inserts?
🔹 Need a trim daytime setup? Look for a lower GSM option that provides the absorbency your little one needs without unnecessary bulk.
🔹 Have a heavy wetter? A higher GSM insert can give you more absorbency in your diapering system!
🔹 Need overnight absorbency? This is where higher GSM can really come in handy. More material means more capacity!
🔹 Comparing two inserts? GSM can be a helpful number to look at when comparing their absorbency potential 😁 but remember that fiber type, construction, layers, & the actual size of the insert all matter too!
