George Terry Hutcherson, Jr., 84, of Wynne, passed away at his home on Monday, July 20, 2026.

Terry was born on August 19, 1941, in Cairo, Illinois, to George Hutcherson and LaVerne Brewer Hutcherson.

In 1966, he married the love of his life, Robbie Long, and together they were blessed with two children, Deborah and G.T.

Terry was the owner and operator of Hutcherson Flying Service where he built a respected career in aviation. Outside of aviation, one of his greatest passions was training reining horses. He loved involving his entire family in the business, and together they earned numerous awards over the years.

Terry developed into an accomplished bowler, winning many awards. He also enjoyed the game of golf and found great success on the golf course, earning numerous honors throughout his life. Terry was also an avid fisherman and treasured every opportunity to be on the water, especially when fishing with his grandsons.

Nothing brought Terry greater joy than being “Papaw” to J.D. and Jacob. He never missed one of their baseball games and could always be found cheering them on from the stands. Whether sitting in the bleachers or spending a day fishing together, the time he shared with his grandsons and their friends was among the greatest blessings of his life.

Terry and his wife, Robbie, could always be found side by side in the stands, enthusiastically cheering on the Wynne Yellowjackets. Whether it was football on Friday nights or basketball during the winter season, they faithfully supported their community and friends.

A man of deep faith, Terry was an active member of Three Trees Cowboy Church. He will be remembered for his unwavering love for his family, his dedication to his work, his competitive spirit, and the many lasting friendships he built through aviation, horses, bowling, golf, and fishing. More than any accomplishment, he will be remembered as a devoted husband, loving father, and proud Papaw whose greatest joy was his family.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Robbie Long Hutcherson of Wynne; his daughter, Deborah Littlejohn of Wynne; his sister, Vicki Forrester of Higden, Arkansas; his sister-in-law, Sandy Beckes of Cedarville, Arkansas; his two grandsons, J.D. Littlejohn and Jacob Littlejohn, both of the home; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, G.T. Hutcherson; and his sister, Belinda Fortenberry.

Visitation will be held Thursday, July 23, 2026, from 12:00 until 1:00 p.m. at Three Trees Cowboy Church. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 p.m., with burial in Forrest Park Cemetery in Forrest City.

Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association at www.alz.org or to Three Trees Cowboy Church, 222 CR 381, Wynne, Arkansas 72396.

Kernodle Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
