A Day of Romantic Blooms at Black River Barn

We are still dreaming of the beautiful colors from this past weekend! It was such a pleasure to design the florals for Harlie and Jacob’s wedding at Black River Barn in South Haven, Michigan.

The aesthetic was all about romantic, elevated, and compote centerpieces that really brought that "dreamy" vibe to life. Every bloom was chosen to complement the soft, elegant atmosphere of the day, creating a look that felt both timeless and personal.

The success of the day was truly a labor of love, made possible by a dream team of vendors. A huge thank you to the staff at Black River Barn for being such a professional, knowledgeable, and helpful team—working at this venue is always such a smooth and wonderful experience.

We also cannot say enough about working with Maggie and her team from The Best Day Details. From managing every detail to answering every question, they ensured the day flowed perfectly. It’s always a delight to collaborate with professionals who care so deeply about the couple’s experience.

Finally, thank you to Harlie, Jacob, and their families for trusting us with their vision. Seeing the loving care put into every detail was a testament to the love they have for each other. Designing this wedding will be a core memory for our team at WSFloral.

I rarely turn the camera on myself. For the most part, I prefer to keep the focus right where it belongs: on the flowers, the designs, the couples, the customers, and the generational legacy we’ve built at WSF. For me, it’s always been about the hustle, grind, and the heart that goes into every single day as both a wedding and retail florist.

But sometimes, it’s good to share a little more about who is behind the flowers.

I’m a third-generation florist, flourishing in a legacy built by my grandparents, Don and Lois, and my mom, Sally—who I’m lucky to still work beside every single day. With over 30 years in this industry and a proud member of the Chapel Designers collective, floral design isn’t just my job; it’s in my blood, my brain, and my heart.

To me, this work will never be about chasing likes or curating a grid. It’s about the ex*****on of design, the beauty of the blooms, and the satisfaction of a job well done while honoring the unique story each couple is sharing through their wedding day.

Whether it’s an intimate gathering or a grand event, my goal remains the same: to create florals just for you. Thank you for being a part of our story, and for letting us be a small part of yours.

Such a dream aesthetic for the wedding of M&B at A-Ga-Ming Golf Resort in Kewadin, Michigan in the Traverse Bay Area. From the ceremony meadow arrangements to the seasonal guest table centerpieces, we loved designing with these beautiful blooms including allium, clematis, delphinium, orlaya, and nigella.

We just love designing for a Black River Barn wedding in South Haven, Michigan. From the inside out, Black River Barn is a perfect choice for a Michigan wedding venue. Emma and Brandon had the perfect day! From the arbor florals to Emma’s bouquet, the peonies couldn’t help but be the star of the flower selection. The couple’s vision was a pastel garden party with pale green, yellow, blue, lavender, and pink.
