Meet your 2027 Hamvention General Chair and Assistant Chair!
Hazel Everetts, N8PTL, has been a licensed amateur radio operator since 1989 and has been a dedicated Hamvention volunteer every year since. Throughout the years, she has worked alongside Hamvention committees and General Chairs to help coordinate more than 600 volunteers, playing an important role in bringing this premier event to life. For the past two years, she has also served as Assistant General Chair, further demonstrating her leadership and deep commitment to Dayton Hamvention. Hazel currently holds a General class license, enjoys contesting, and recently took part in the first YLWWA as an activator. She has also served as Vice President of DARA and loves traveling to other hamfests to share her enthusiasm for Dayton Hamvention and invite others to experience all it has to offer.
Steve Keller, AE8AT, is a Dayton native whose interest in electronics began in childhood, building electronic kits, and his soldering iron remains warm to this day. He earned his Amateur Extra license at Hamvention in 2018 and is an active amateur radio operator with interests in HF contesting. Steve regularly volunteers at the DARA clubhouse VE examination sessions and serves as a radio operator for the Air Force Marathon. He currently serves on the Dayton Amateur Radio Association Board of Directors as Senior Trustee and is an active Hamvention volunteer, most recently serving as Parking Chair.
