Approaching 50,000 Comments. Let’s get over 100,000 by New Year’s Day!

Remember:

-focus on THIS Issue, not “shall not be infringed” or your opinion of the legitimacy of the BATFE

-Don’t just copy & paste someone else’s words... speak your own truth. It’s fine to use a template that you make your own, but form letters will be ignored.

-keep it classy... avoid profanity or childish statements.

Some Points to Consider Including:

-Hundreds of thousands of gun owners have responsibly used braces for many years now, proving they don’t need special regulation.

- There is no data that suggests an increase in criminal activity or fi****ms negligence tied to Stabilizing Braces.

-Subjective application of the proposed guidelines will inevitably lead to well-intentioned gun owners becoming felons.

-While waiving the $200 Tax on SBR Registration may be a gesture of good-will, it doesn’t overcome the burden of additional issues that come with NFA Item Ownership, nor does it address the issue of SBRs being prohibited in some States.

-Stabilizing Braces, as currently owned and used, have created jobs and inspired innovation in the fi****ms industry. Unnecessary regulation will affect those jobs and deter future innovation.

- Stabilizing Braces, as currently owned and used, have increased responsible fi****ms use and made it possible for more people to use fi****ms in a safe and controlled way over a wider variety of circumstances.

- The vast majority of stabilizing braces are attached to fi****ms which have been purchased through Federally Licensed Fi****ms Dealers, involving a background check and already creating a paper trail to their owners.

Remember, a firearm should be categorized by its features, not by what someone does with it. If I hold a muzzleloader with one hand at my hip, it doesn’t become a pistol.

The latest from the ATF concerning pistol braces:

The Bureau of Alcohol, To***co, Fi****ms, and Explosives (``ATF'') is publishing the objective factors it considers when evaluating fi****ms with an attached stabilizing brace to determine whether they are considered fi****ms under the National Fi****ms Act (``NFA'') and/or the Gun Control Act...

If you have never taken a dedicated shotgun class, I can’t recommend it enough. You will be blown away by the skill and effort needed to make one of these work efficiently in a defense situation. It’s not just a "point and shoot" tool by any stretch.
