The Hosta Hideaway sells hundreds of varieties of hostas, perennials, statuary and other garden finds

Welcome to The Hosta Hideaway Nursery and Gardens of York Springs, Pennsylvania where our goal is to offer a large selection of quality Hostas at reasonable prices. We currently have hundreds varieties of hosta for sale and we also offer an expanded grouping of complimentary shade plants, and other pollinator friendly plants. Additionally, we have statuary and other decorative items to add interest to your gardens. Coming to the Hosta Hideaway is a unique experience where our customers can view garden displays of mature hostas to assist in visualizing hostas in their own garden spaces. We offer knowledgeable specialized service to assist in helping our customers choose what hostas would be best for their gardens. Additionally, we will help you lay out new or expanded gardens. Hostas have beautiful foliage and are easy to grow part shade perennials. Sizes vary from miniature to giant (miniatures stay six inches or less in height and giant hostas can grow to over four feet tall) and colors can be any combination of greens, blues, yellows and white. Each year we strive to add new varieties of hostas to our nursery, expand our selection of statuary and art, and expand our gardens to provide our customers with the best opportunity to choose from a large quantity of quality perennials. Today atThe Hosta Hideaway Nursery and Gardens of York Springs PA is want to feature a great sculpture by Chuck Seitz for anyone who likes daylilies. Also, if you check the comments you can see what it looks like at night if you choose to put lights on it (video complements of Bill). Also we are suggesting the hosta 'World Peace' for your garden as we have plenty in stock!. This hosta is exclusive to The Hosta Hideaway, and it is a variegated sport of the 2018 Hosta of the Year 'World Cup', and it is a large to giant upright hosta with slightly cupped and corrugated blue-green leaves, with a yellow margin. The hosta was discovered among a large flat of 'World Cup' hostas growing in the greenhouse at The Hosta Hideaway in 2014, and it was registered by Donna Seitz, owner, in 2019.

'World Peace has very sturdy, thick, long, upright petioles that makes this hosta one of the nicest upright hostas available. The hosta is a fantastic stand alone specimen in the garden, or planted in a large container. It can easily be underplanted with medium hostas in a smaller space because of the upright growth pattern. Pale lavender, bell-shaped flowers bloom from late June into July on scapes 28 to 36 inches tall. And 'World Peace' is available exclusively at The Hosta Hideaway Nursery and Gardens of York Springs PA and we have it for $35. And 'World Peace' is a great container hosta, and we still have some fantastic planters in stock

And remember, you can plant hostas anytime during the growing season, and fall is an excellent time to add hostas to the garden as the plant roots will continue to establish themselves in the ground even as the outside temperatures get colder.

The Hosta Hideaway Nursery and Gardens of York Springs,Pennsylvania says fall is a great time to plan a new garden or decide on a garden feature for your landscape. See the new display garden we are currently working on at the nursery. A future post will outline the steps in designing and planting a new hosta bed. Also, this is a great time to buy gifts certificates for your gardening friends from The Hosta Hideaway, now and until October 10th when we close for the season, and you will also be entered into our customer appreciation drawing for a $100 or $50 gift card. And right now we are replanting the hosta display beds in preparation for our 20th anniversary in 2027. Therefore, we are removing quite a few ferns from the gardens and are offering them for $10 each. Each pot is a two gallon container with a nice clump of ferns- various varieties. We are also removing a few hostas from the beds so we can add new varieties- $5 each (they are not labeled).
