We’ve been meaning to talk about AI for a minute and just haven’t had a chance. But this happened and we wanted to reassure you that we’ll never knowingly carry a book generated by AI.

We believe authors should receive credit and payment for their work and that their words shouldn’t be used to train AI. We also don’t think readers should pay for books derived from stolen content.

We’re open!

Thanks for your patience this morning - bookish meetings ran a bit longer than we anticipated. There are some exciting things in the works - stay tuned!

It’s hard to believe that we opened our doors four years ago today! And to celebrate, we have the cutest stickers of our bookstore! For today only, each customer will receive a free sticker with purchase. A tiny way to thank you all for your support.

We’ve been huge fans of for a while. If you’ve been in the store, you’ve seen her whimsical bookmarks, stickers and so much more. We love it all. She also has a bookstore series and we’re honored she drew our store. And so grateful for the customer that recommended she add the store to her series.

Indie Bookstore Day is hands down our favorite day of the year because we get a chance to celebrate you. We’ve built a really cool bookish community here and well, we think you’re the bee’s knees.

We had a couple of firsts yesterday - our first IBD story time and author Joni McNeal knocked it out of the park.

We also launched the inaugural Get Lit Coastal Maine Book Crawl with FIVE local bookstores. We loved hearing the stories of how people planned their crawls and listening to their excitement when they bumped into their fellow crawlers. A special shout out to the woman from Bangor who drove down just so she could be part of the crawl!

If you missed either Joni McNeal or author Jonathan McNabb - we have copies of their books available at the store.

And finally, a huge thank you to the indie and local authors that support us, shop with us, and write the amazing books that fill indie bookstores.
