The sense of smell is our time machine. It's wild when you think about it. Out of all our senses, it is the only one that goes straight to the emotional center of our brain.
Sometimes at events, someone picks up a candle at my booth, and suddenly goes still, eyes soften, shoulders drop, a quiet smile appears. I know exactly what happened in that moment. They didn't just smell a candle. They found a memory. And to me, that's magic.
That is what happened with this candle recently. When a customer smelled it, I watched the happiness of a fond memory spread across his face when he said it reminded him of family ski trips. If you happen to be reading this, thank you for letting me be a small part of your memories.
These candles aren't just decor. They're a return ticket to comfort, to childhood, to the coast, to wherever your heart wandered off to.
