🛥️ Boaters Education Course

Learn to boat safely this spring with the Boaters Education Course at Mill Creek MetroParks! This one-day, 8-hour class is designed and presented by the Ohio Department of Natural Resources’ Division of Watercraft.

📍 Course Location:
Wick Recreation Center
1861 McCollum Road, Youngstown, OH 44509

📅 Date & Time:
Saturday, April 25 | 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM

💰 Cost: $10 (Testing Fee)

This course covers the fundamentals of safe boating, including:

State-required equipment

Watercraft laws

Navigation rules of the road

Basic safety and risk management

Aids to navigation

A proficiency exam will be administered at the end of the class. Those who pass will receive a lifetime boating license satisfying the Ohio Boater Education Requirement.

⚠️ Reminder: Anyone born on or after January 1, 1982 must have a boating license to operate a vessel over 10 horsepower, including jet skis.

Got an adult bike you’re not riding anymore? Turn it into a lifeline for a neighbor!
We will be collecting adult bikes, parts, and tools for Thrive Mahoning Valley’s Pedal Forward program, which provides free bicycles and safety gear to neighbors facing transportation barriers. We’ll have pizza and soft drinks, plus chances to learn more about how your support keeps people moving to work, school, appointments, and more.
Help us beat last summer’s collection and fill the rack with bikes again!
