🌳 Noticing Nature

📍 Location: Lanterman’s Mill Overflow Parking Lot

👀 Slow down and experience nature in a whole new way! This relaxed, educator-led walk encourages participants to observe and discuss geology, trees, plants, insects, wildlife, and the many small wonders often overlooked. Whether you’re a seasoned naturalist or simply curious, everyone is welcome to share observations and connect with the outdoors.

🥾 Difficulty: Easy-paced 1–2 mile walk on uneven trails

🔥 We’re honored to work alongside Scouting America on the brand-new Wildland Fire Management merit badge, unveiled at the 2026 National Jamboree!

This badge, developed in collaboration with the U.S. Department of the Interior and the U.S. Forest Service, teaches Scouts the science of wildland fire through hands-on experience with experts. Scouts will learn about a variety of important topics, including but not limited to wildfire causes and behavior, wildfire prevention, and the role of fire in healthy ecosystems.

As we continue to celebrate 250 years of sustainable forest management with the Forests250 initiative, we’re also celebrating the future of forestry. 🌲We can’t wait to see the next generation of wildland fire stewards in action!
