Ernie E. Barnes (American, 1938-2009) was an acclaimed painter and former professional football player best known for his expressive scenes of sports, music, dance, and everyday life. Recognized for his signature style of elongated, dynamic figures, Barnes drew inspiration from movement and the human form. His iconic painting The Sugar Shack became one of the most recognizable images in American art, while his work also appeared on the television series Good Times and Marvin Gaye's I Want You album cover.

Lot 84 in the July Gallery Auction, a 1970's lithograph in colors on wove paper, titled "Destination Unknown" by Ernie E. Barnes. Published by London Arts Group, Detroit, 1979. Signed "Ernie Barnes" lower right, numbered "299/300" lower left, printer ink stamp "Z. Rather, 1979" verso. Framed 33 3/4 x 26 1/2" high overall.

William De Morgan (1839-1917) transformed the Arts & Crafts movement with his richly glazed ceramics, drawing inspiration from Persian and Islamic designs. Known for his vibrant luster glazes, mythical creatures, and intricate patterns, his work remains among the most celebrated decorative arts of the Victorian era.

A tribute to the wild! 🦌 These monumental garden urns may not be antique, but they're impressive all the same. Lot 12 in our July Gallery Auction, the pair of late 20th century bronze garden urns features cast bodies with elk roaming through a woodland landscape, framed by sculptural antlers and supported by full elk head pedestal bases with acanthus leaf decoration. Each measures 22 x 27 x 47 inches high. And just wait until you see the other garden sculptures in this auction!
