The project below isn’t just your normal everyday 5,250-gallon water tank. Yuba City Steel Products Company and its highly skilled employees designed and built three of these special tanks for three different transport vehicles for a company in Washington.
There are four different internal compartments in this tank. Each compartment will contain either water, fuel, fertilizer or seed. If that wasn’t special enough…look closer at the picture. What does it look like on the top of the tank? If you said a custom designed helicopter landing pad you would be correct.
The helicopter comes back from either spreading fertilizer, seed or fighting a fire, then it lands on top of this tank. Technicians refill the helicopter with what it needs and off the helicopter goes. It’s down time is minimized thus allowing it to get back into the air to continue its operation fully loaded.
