Just realized; we have completed 20 YEARS in the used book biz.
-Each day brings new book lovers and books (over 40,000)).
-Fortunately, prices remain the same. Most hardbacks, $5 and under, and most paperbacks, $1.25 and under.

Nick’s viewing will be at Hillis Funeral home Monday 8/21/23 from 4-7

The service will be at the funeral home Tuesday 11 AM. 8/22/23.

It is with great sadness that I announce that Nick Malone has passed away.

Nick was one of the first people I met when I moved to zanesville and one of the best. He was a good friend and part of our family life.

Like many of you, I have great memories and stories from Shanachie Books. I will miss his sense of humor, his wit and his friendship.

I will post when his viewing will be held as soon as I have the information.

Shanachie Books closing

It is with a heavy heart that I announce today, July 31st, will be Shanachie Books’ last day of business.

I am saddened for our community and fellow book lovers because this store (and Nick) has been a place of conversation and knowledge for over 25 years.

If anyone is interested in continuing the book store in its present state or is interested in purchasing the inventory for their own venture, please contact Kris (or Jerry Malone).

Gavin’s mom said that the huge Speedway to sunshine book is the coolest book Gavin’s ever had. Gavin said he thought it was cool because it was all about trains.

Cade enjoyed playing with pennies and reading picture books.

Our hours are going to be different this weekend July 21 through the 24th. We will only be open Friday the 21st and Sunday the 23rd.  we will be closed Saturday and Monday for inventory in stock purposes. Sorry about the inconvenience.

I read this when I was in Panama with the Peace Corps.

This author has totally captured all the funny, bizarre and crazy people that you meet when you live in the Caribbean or anywhere abroad. I highly recommend it.
