Surface ground these platens so I have a true, flat reference before grinding bevels. It’s one of those small steps you may not notice in the finished knife, but it matters. Clean, flat edge geometry starts with a clean, flat surface.

The Grimthorn neck knife.

I used to make this little blade years ago, and while going back through some older models, this one caught my eye again. Small, simple, and made for real woods work. I’m thinking about bringing it back.

What do you think?

Surface ground and ready for heat treat.

I’ve been using NoScale 2000 and I’m really liking it. Easy cleanup, saves belts, and makes Rockwell testing a lot cleaner and more consistent.

Wild blue violets are not just yard weeds. They make one of the best spring teas out there.

Steeped deep blue, then add lemon and watch it shift.

Simple. Natural. Right under your feet.

Found this Blue Jay feather while doing yard work today.

A little flash of blue hiding in the grass. Blue Jays are loud, bold, and smarter than most people give them credit for. They can mimic hawks, stash food for later, and their blue color is actually a trick of light, not blue pigment.

Pretty cool find from the yard. 🪶

Called out by for feather findings.

Saved these crow feathers from a hunt last year. Jet black, worn by weather, and full of that raw woodland feel. Not everything in the woods has to be bright to be beautiful.

Crows carry a different kind of presence. Dark, intelligent, and always watching. The kind of bird that fits right in with cold mornings, bare timber, and quiet trails.

Nomad Pocket Pouch

A simple carry, built the right way.

These Nomad Pocket Pouches are hand cut, wet-formed, and hand stitched using artificial sinew, then finished with antique Line 24 brass snaps for a solid, lasting closure. The leather is dyed and finished by hand, leaving natural grain, scars, and pull-up visible — no two will ever be the same.

Perfect for:
• Fire kit items
• Coins, rings, or small EDC
• Pocket organization without bulk

Details:
• Veg-tan leather (approx. 3–4 oz)
• Hand stitched with artificial sinew
• Antique Line 24 snap closure
• Burnished edges, hand finished
• Compact pocket carry size

This is a small, first-run release. Once they’re gone, they’re gone — it may be a while before I make more.

Handcrafted Leather Valet Tray — First Release

Built for everyday carry essentials — keys, wallet, watch, lighter — this valet tray is hand-cut, wet-molded, dyed, and finished one piece at a time.

This is the first time these have ever been released.
I may make more down the road — or I may not. If I do, it won’t be anytime soon. These are a small, one-off run.

Details
• Size: approx. 7" diameter
• Leather: 7–8 oz vegetable-tanned leather
• Finish: hand-dyed with layered tones, then sealed and conditioned
• Edges: beveled, sanded smooth, burnished then buffed to a soft sheen

Each tray is formed wet and allowed to dry naturally, giving it structure while keeping a slightly organic, broken-in feel — stiff enough to hold shape, but not plastic-rigid.

About the leather This is real, full-grain veg-tan leather — not corrected, stamped, or “perfected.”
You’ll see natural scarring, stretch marks, grain variation, and subtle wrinkles from the life the hide lived before it ever became a tray. Those marks aren’t flaws — they’re character. No two pieces are ever the same.
