The Upper Macatawa Mountain Bike Trail (The Upper Mac) is a multi-use trail system that was begun in the fall of 2012 with a roughly 2 mile loop in the ravines of the Ottawa Parks and Recreation’s Upper Macatawa Natural Area. Under the direction of the Michigan Edge Mountain Biking Alliance, (MEMBA), another 1 1/2 mile of intermediate skill level trail was added in the fall of 2013. An additional 2 miles of single track was professionally machine built by Alex Stewart of Spectrum Trail Design in November of 2014. Additional mileage was added in 2015, 2016 and 2017 to bring the total mileage to approximately 6 1/2 miles.
