We took Allen out to help him fill his tags. First gator was 8’4”. We quickly took it to a processor to get it cooled down. After having lunch and cooling down our selves, we headed back out to fill the second tag. Allen spotted the second gator while we were trying to decide which lake to hunt. Allen filled the second tag with a 10’4.

A customer Dylan Bonds had recently contacted me about ordering supplies. He shared pictures of an 11’8” gator, his wife and he got in 2023 in Alabama using G&B Gator Gear.

While you’re getting ready for gator season, don’t forget safety. Besides your required boating safety gear consider how you arrange things on the boat.
Ropes for harpoons or bait lines, we keep in a bucket so they are not just laying on the deck to trip someone.
Hooks should never be left lying on the deck, they should be secured on a rod placed in a rod holder, large throw hook and rope could be kept in a bucket or box.
Do not load bangsticks until you are ready to use it.
Gator hunting is fun and exciting, but things can get very hectic and safety concerns get ignored.
Stay safe and have fun!

A week left to get your applications in for the 2025 Private Lands alligator season!

MDWFP reminds hunters that beginning this year, applications can only be submitted ONLINE. These applications will remain open until July 1, 2025.

-> The Private Lands Season will be from noon on August 29 until 6:00 a.m. on September 22.⁠
