This weeks fishing report. We started the week continuing to smash smallies. They were on fire with the warm water temps over the last couple weeks. However, the last 3 -4 days we have had cooler nights and some rain and the bass bite slowed up a bite. The walleye in the other hand loved the cooler weather that brought the water temps down into the low 70s and they got very active this week. Many limits of walleyes the last few days.

This weeks fishing report
Had a great multi species week. The smallmouth bass fishing was absolutely on fire this week. Catching lots of 4-5 pounders in 12-14ft of water. We also caught several northern pike and some Jumbo perch this week along with the walleyes. The walleye bite has definitely slowed up. We are catching some but nothing like earlier in the year. Lots of bait and bug hatches going on has our walleyes fat and happy. It’s good for them but a little tougher to get them to bite

This week the walleye bite started out great but has steadily declined through mid week. We are getting over 20 inch walleyes but finding those 17-20 inchers to fill out the limits has been a challenge since the cold weather moved in. The smallmouth bass are absolutely smashing. Little ones and big ones are aggressive right now. We have landed 2 - 6 lbers this week and lots of 4pds

The heat advisories and constant bug hatches have the Walleye a little finicky this week. However we still have been getting our limits It takes some patience to w**d through the little ones but the good ones are right in the mix with them. Smallmouth fishing has been fantastic. I did two half day trips this week on bass and both times we caught over 25 smallies and many 3-5 pounders.

Fishing update:
Walleye fishing over the last week was pretty good considering the conditions. Most days it was bright and sunny and 90+ degrees. We caught most of our walleyes before noon. Afternoons have been a bit slower. Our best day last week was 36 walleyes on a trip. Haven’t done a lot of bass fishing but when we did they cooperated very well too.
