ANNIVERSARY and...
I’m amazed to say that Friday, May 1st, marked the 42nd anniversary of my starting Heartland Harps, or actually Heartland Strings back then. I’ve built harps in Minnesota, Wisconsin, Oregon, North Carolina and now coastal Georgia.
I have built lever and pedal harps, harps strung in nylon, fluorocarbon, gut and wire, made of wood and carbon fiber, with curved soundboxes and straight, and been able to work with some amazing people along the way.
Harp making, like most good things in life, is very much a team effort, from production to customers, even for individual makers. I still don’t know how lucky I was to have stumbled into this life and this community, but I am grateful every day that it worked out the way it has.
INCREASE
On a more serious note, my cost on the carbon fiber parts has gone up over 50% over the last 10 months, and all the other bits and pieces that go into the harps have had their own increases, as well. I’m no longer able to absorb that difference. So, it’s with real regret that I have to increase the prices of the harps 8% effective May 20th, 2026. The new pricing structure will be listed shortly on the website on both the models pages and on the price sheet.
