the same situation triggers the same emotional reaction.
the same reaction generates the same decision.
the same decision produces the same outcome.
the same outcome becomes the same story you tell about your life.

the story becomes the identity.
the identity seeks out situations that confirm it.

and the loop continues.

not because life is cruel.
not because the universe is against you.
because the pattern has not been seen clearly enough to interrupt.

the interruption is always awareness.
not willpower.
not discipline.
not a better strategy or a stronger motivation.

awareness.

the moment you see the loop from outside it you are no longer fully inside it.
you have not dissolved it.
but you have created the conditions for dissolution.

suffering does not repeat as punishment.
it repeats as precision.
it is the pattern delivering itself to you in the only form it knows how to deliver.

I didn’t see fellowship, or the colonizers version of god.
On my first visit to Cumberland Island, I witnessed the ones that came before me in vision. They danced around the fire, each face glistened with sweat, intense smiles flashing in the darkness that surrounded us. I was on the ground, that danced and had great ceremony.

My second visit I chose not to visit this building, dubbed “the first African American Church”
I was doing deep internal work and this place had too much sorrow and heaviness. I felt a sense of loss….

My third visit. I went inside to meditate. It felt empty, unnatural and I felt shame. Even though I knew it was not mine. I felt a huge loss for the ones that came before us.. being forced into a religion that was not theirs. The sense of loss was greater. Loss of ceremony, culture and even their names were not allowed.

Forever grateful for the experiences that I’ve had in this space. I’m always welcomed by the spirits of the island.. sometimes I feel like I’m intruding other times I feel like I’m bringing awareness to the atrocities that happened before our time.

I’m here to hold space…

We all speak and hear about unconditional love. How does this land…. Unconditional self love.
Should we have more conversations about it? What would that look like? The next one can be tricky. Unconditional peace. Unconditional inner peace. I could say this one again, many times over. Let’s build conversations with this as the centerpiece— a focal point. How do we achieve this? Through community, presence, clarity, mental fortitude, Yes, we can collectively look inward,join together in circle, and have raw discussion. We can learn from each other’s experiences if we are open to it. 🙏🙏🙏

The lens we view life through, victimhood, trauma, lack mentality, greed… the things we view life through have the potential to block or enhance real connection. They also have the potential to block intuition,self guidance and our own knowing. This creates a huge misalignment. Naturally we assume people are being honest and truthful, often that is not the case, even in the spiritual realm. Witnessing this first hand on a grandioso scale... Disregard the wicked and unhappy, they flock together. They sow discord no matter how much love and peace they preach. I read a quote the other day that was profound.

“ integrity is your thoughts, your words and your actions all matching”
