🌴 Adventure to Jack & Isaac Bay, St. Croix 🌊🥾

If you’re looking for a little adventure and one of the most beautiful stretches of untouched coastline on St. Croix, lace up your hiking shoes and head to Jack & Isaac Bay Preserve on the island’s East End. Located near Point Udall—the easternmost point of the U.S. Virgin Islands—the preserve offers a scenic hike through dry tropical forest, rolling hills, cactus-covered landscapes, and breathtaking overlooks of the Caribbean Sea. 🌵🌊

The trail leads down toward Isaac Bay and Jack Bay, where you’ll find secluded beaches, crystal-clear turquoise water, coral reefs, and very little development—just the natural beauty of St. Croix. The area is protected by The Nature Conservancy and is especially important habitat for nesting green and hawksbill sea turtles. 🐢 Depending on the route you choose, you can make it a shorter beach hike or spend several hours exploring the trails and coastline.

This is definitely an adventure where you’ll want good walking shoes, plenty of water, sunscreen, and snorkeling gear if you plan to get in the water. There are no restaurants, beach bars, or facilities waiting for you at the bottom—and that’s exactly what makes it so special. 💙

From the sweeping views at the top of the trail to finally reaching that quiet Caribbean shoreline, Jack & Isaac Bay reminds you that some of St. Croix’s greatest treasures are the ones you have to work a little harder to find. Hike it. Explore it. Respect it. And leave only footprints behind. 🌴🥾🐚

🩶🌊 A little piece of television history washed ashore! Finding gray sea glass is always an exciting beachcombing surprise because some pieces may have started life as glass from old television picture tubes! 📺 Before today’s flat screens, vintage TVs used thick glass cathode-ray tubes (CRTs), and certain portions could have a beautiful smoky gray tint. After decades of being tossed, rolled, and naturally frosted by the ocean, fragments can emerge as smooth little gray treasures along the shoreline. While you can’t identify TV glass by color alone, finding a chunky, beautifully frosted piece of gray sea glass certainly makes you wonder about its story. From an old television screen to years beneath the waves and finally into the palm of a lucky beachcomber—what a fun little piece of history to find! 🩶🌊📺
