Fazioli refuses to impose limitations on Artists, convinced that they should have the freedom to choose which instrument to play, based purely on the belief that it represents the best vehicle to express their talent. For this reason, Fazioli has always been opposed to signing exclusivity contracts with pianists, preferring instead the establishment of reciprocal partnerships for the sake of the pure artistic purpose, which should always take precedence over commercial considerations.

For this reason, Fazioli has always been favoured by pianists who, from their love of performing and playing with the Fazioli, have turned the Fazioli into an instrument present in their own living space.

Why Are Fazioli Pianos Gaining Steam?

Numerous pianists who have played a Fazioli piano say it is the best piano in the world. In the words of Canadian classical pianist Angela Hewitt, “The action is incredibly responsive to every variation in touch, and everything I imagine in my head I can produce with my fingers. Other pianos can be very beautiful but are less interesting because the sound cannot be varied to such an extent as on a Fazioli.”

Let’s have a look at some of the reasons Fazioli pianos are a favourite of so many piano players.

Bing Thom Architects and Fazioli have created a custom instrument designed to reflect Westbank’s latest architectural project in the heart of downtown Vancouver, The Butterfly.
The architects sought to capture the same experiential qualities inherent in the design of this futuristic tower.
The lightness of the legs and rails echoes the open garden breezeways, while its delicately sculpted geometry recalls the soft undulations of the tower’s skin, abstracted from the surrounding landscapes.

The design of the tower, by Revery Architecture (formerly Bing Thom Architects), is inspired by organ pipes and the “ephemeral nature” of clouds. The façade consists of an assembly of white, concrete precast panels, and the interior of the panels — which are visible in the suites — have a toned terrazzo finish.
