🌿 ONE MONTH IN OUR NEW HOME – MEKONG QUILTS HANOI

It has now been one month since Mekong Quilts Hanoi found its new home.
One month may not seem like a long time, but it has been enough for this little space to begin creating stories of its own, welcoming visitors, sharing conversations, seeing handmade pieces find new homes, and slowly filling the house with warmth.

Looking back at these beautiful moments from the past month, we feel incredibly grateful and happy. 🌿
Thank you to all our friends who have stopped by, supported us, and shared your kind words and encouragement as we begin this new chapter.

💚 These moments were captured 25 years ago...

As we continue looking back on 25 years of Mekong Quilts, we have received a truly precious gift from Isabelle in Belgium.

She shared with us a collection of photographs taken during her visit to Mekong Plus projects in Bình Thuận and Hậu Giang, where some of the very first women began learning sewing and embroidery, taking their first steps toward building a better future with their own hands.

The photographs may have faded with time, but the smiles, the determination, and the dedication of these women remain as vivid as ever. They remind us of our humble beginnings, when every meaningful change started with a simple stitch.

Twenty-five years have passed. Many of the women in these photographs have become highly skilled artisans, devoted team leaders, or mentors who have passed their craftsmanship on to the next generation.

Our heartfelt thanks to Isabelle for preserving these precious memories and so generously sharing them with us. They are more than photographs, they are a beautiful reminder of a journey shaped by hope, resilience, and the belief that small stitches can create lasting change.

AN UNFORGETTABLE EVENING WITH THE MEKONG QUILTS FAMILY
Some moments last only one evening, yet remain in our hearts for years to come.

Our 25th Anniversary Gala was one of those moments.
Twenty-five years ago, Mekong Quilts began with a simple dream: to create sustainable livelihoods for a handful of rural women, giving them the opportunity to earn an income and build a better future for themselves and their families.

Over the years, that dream grew into a community of nearly 500 artisans. Then the COVID-19 pandemic brought unprecedented challenges, forcing many women to put their craft aside in order to find other ways to support their families.

But thanks to the continued support of our customers, partners, and everyone who believed in Mekong Quilts, we have gradually rebuilt. Today, more than 150 artisans are once again creating beautiful handmade products with care, skill, and love, sharing their work with people around the world.

Our Anniversary Gala was not only a celebration of 25 years, but also a heartfelt tribute to every person who has helped shape this journey. Every smile, every embrace, and every round of applause reminded us that behind every handmade piece is a story of resilience, hope, and compassion.

To everyone who has walked alongside Mekong Quilts over the past 25 years, thank you. Your trust, encouragement, and support have made this journey possible.

𝐋𝐨𝐨𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐁𝐚𝐜𝐤 𝐭𝐨 𝐖𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐈𝐭 𝐀𝐥𝐥 𝐁𝐞𝐠𝐚𝐧
As we prepare for the 25th anniversary of Mekong Quilts, we have found ourselves deeply moved while looking through the photographs from our earliest days.
They bring us back to 𝐓𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐡 𝐓𝐫𝐮𝐨𝐧𝐠, a dentist who returned to her roots in Vietnam from France, carrying with her a deep love for the art of patchwork quilting. Inspired by that passion and a simple dream of creating meaningful work for rural women, she and her friends, including 𝐂𝐚𝐫𝐥𝐚, 𝐒𝐮𝐞, and many others, patiently shared their skills, stitch by stitch, and introduced the very first quilts to friends and local fairs.
From one simple idea, Mekong Quilts has grown thanks to the kindness, dedication, and support of so many people along the way.
This is just the beginning of our 25-year story. In the coming days, we'll be sharing more memories and the inspiring people who have helped shape this meaningful journey.

💚 An Afternoon of Sharing and Kindness in the Paris Suburbs
Last week, in the warm and welcoming home of Nathalie in the suburbs of Paris, a private concert was held to raise funds for Mekong Plus – Mekong Quilts.

By opening her home to bring people together for a meaningful cause, Nathalie also kindly introduced and sold Mekong Quilts' handcrafted products to her friends and guests.

Every item chosen is more than a beautiful piece of craftsmanship. It also helps create sustainable employment for women from disadvantaged communities in rural Vietnam and Cambodia, empowering them to earn a stable income and build a brighter future for themselves and their families.

Our heartfelt thanks go to Nathalie, the musicians, and everyone who attended the concert, listened, shared, and supported Mekong Plus – Mekong Quilts.
