Hatch is a retail concept born out of wanting a unique and dynamic shopping experience in downtown Durham. Founded by a California transplant who fell in love with Durham's magic, Hatch's products are carefully reviewed for design, style, affordability and function before they're added to our shelves. Guided by our love for excellent design, you'll notice that all the products at Hatch fit a particular style of the Modern South - colorful, graphic, simple, approachable, and thoughtfully designed. We've selected a collection of goods for living, working, entertaining, playing and decorating to help you create a colorful, happy and interesting home. Beyond the unique style of Hatch's products, you'll find we are incredibly thoughtful as to where our products come from. As often as we can, we source goods made in the USA, often right here in the South, and often from suppliers that are small batch independent designer/makers, craftspeople, and/or eco-friendly producers. We hope someday to fill our entire shop with these types of suppliers, but for now we fill the blanks with more traditional, yet still responsible suppliers, that are often, in turn, supporting independent artisans from around the world. Products at Hatch have their own stories before arriving at the shop, stories that we hope you take home and make uniquely yours.
