Sadly this years Grand Bonfire is cancelled.
The rules at the moment would not allow a large gathering of this kind.

The idea of a drive-in type event does have rules attached - people are not allowed to get out of their vehicles. If people did leave their vehicles in the DARK this would make it very difficult to monitor.

Food would make people want to get out of their vehicles so again not allowed.

I agree that our schools have done a brilliant job of trying to keep our children safe. The school environment is controlled with very low numbers and plenty of teaching support. The Bonfire attracts HUNDREDS of visitors with different ideas on social distancing! This could create a serious health and safety problem for us all.

My other concern is that we would still attract people from Winterton walking to the edge of the ground , causing large crowds who are not social distancing. We would not get all the cars in, therefore the streets of Winterton would be congested and we would be in trouble with the emergency services.

I will of course organize a show meeting when it is allowed. The rules at the moment are for a maximum number of 6 people in an outside environment only.

We have a heavy responsibility to protect the public and ourselves. I want nothing more than to get back to normal and provide Winterton people with their Bonfire event but not with any risks. Please keep safe everyone .

Brian Tighe
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of one our long serving members, Mr Brian Tighe.
Brian epitomised the very spirit of the Winterton Agricultural Society, always hard working, cheerful and full of ideas. In 1993 he negotiated the purchase of our present show ground and has watched it develope into one of the best venues for all manner of outdoor events.
As chairman of the Society he led by example , be it putting out signs advertising the Show or Bonfire weeks before the day, litter picking after an event or entertaining our sponsors over the Show weekend he could always be found doing some job or other. He was a perfect role model, encouraging younger members, recruiting new helpers and supporting the working Committee members.
After his term of office as Chairman, Brian became the President of the Society, again throwing all his extensive knowledge and management skills into the role and steering the Society forwards to become one of the highest respected organisations in the world of agricultural shows.
As we approach our 150th Anniversary there have been many notable characters in the history of Winterton Agricultural Society and Brian will always be remembered as one of the best of them.

WINTERTON SHOW 4th & 5th JULY, 2020
It is regret we find it necessary to cancel the above Show due to the
Coronavirus Crisis.
After speaking to our agent and interested parties the feeling is we
would cut our losses by deciding earlier, as against later, to cancel. This
saving would be from Printing, Advertising, Marquee and other major
costs. Also, with your approval, we are looking at carrying forward the
Acts booked for this year to next year
We did consider moving the date to September, but with an already full
Show Programme Nationally, and the Schools not operational, which
affects Enterprise Entries (85%), it is not viable.
Many thanks for your support, long may it continue and we hope to see
you all on 3rd & 4th July 2021. at our next Show.

Winterton Agricultural Show 2020
The 148th Winterton Agricultural Show returns on Saturday the 4th & Sunday the 5th of July

Main Attractions
Already Confirmed for this years show the Agricultural Society can proudly present on the Saturday The Devils Horsemen.
The Devil’s Horsemen is the leading film-industry horse supplier in Europe. Owned by horsemasters Daniel and Camilla Naprous and their father Gerard, they provide horses, carriages, tack, riders and horsemasters to international films, television programs and for photoshoots. For half a century, The Devil’s Horsemen have worked with world renowned production companies, directors, producers and photographers, including Disney, Warner Bros., Universal Pictures, HBO, Netflix, Fox Broadcasting and Working Title Films
The Devil’s Horsemen stable over one hundred highly trained horses that have carried actors Emma Stone, Angelina Jolie, Michael Fassbender, Chris Pine, Christian Bale, Scarlett Johansson and Madonna among others on screen. The horses have also graced the pages of Vogue, Vanity Fair and W magazine as well as been featured in the famous Lloyds Bank advertisement.



The Grand Float Parade
The Float parade is all set to exceed previous years, this year Stan Wood has managed to secure The Melton Mowbray Toy Soldiers Band again to lead the float parade.This years theme is " Let the music play" organised by Paul Lovett.One we all look forward to.
The Melton Mowbray Toy Soldiers band was formed in 1936. Their uniform consists of Red tunics (Grenadier Guard Style), white trousers with a red stripe (male and female), Bearskin type hats, White belts, White socks and Black shoes.
The band travels all over the United Kingdom performing in Carnivals, Fetes and Galas. They have competed numerous Competitions where they won more than their fair share of top three places. They have performed in the USA, touring the New York state, in Germany & in the Isle of Man where they won the World Championship for Marching Bands.

Definately not for the Faint Hearted!
The Vander Super Hero's Wheel of Death was established in 1987. Since then we have toured the UK.... Main arena, Queen's Gold and Diamond Jubilee, Balloon Festivals, Music Festivals, ie Glastonbury Festival (6 times) Galas, Air Shows, Carnivals, Butlins Holiday Camps etc., Europe, Scandinavia, Moscow's Red Square, Bahrain F1 GP, Isreal and the Middle East. First performed with the Double Wheel then the Triple Wheel and now the Famous Quad Wheel.
History was made when all four guys were running on the outside of the rings at the same time in Dubai November 2013. A brilliant crown puller and guaranteed to make your show a success. 50ft at its highest point Team Vander run, jump, skip, juggle and go blind-folded during their 15 minute stunt display. An adrenalin fueled act that will leave your hearts in your mouth throughout.




Another act for Saturday is the traditional scurry racing, they have being invited back due to public demand and we really look forward to meeting up with them again.
Fran Ross will hold her highly sucessful poultry show.
Live on the Band stand we have our local Elvis "Menphis Dave.
Once again we would like to welcome Colin Thompson and his North Lincs Classic Motorcycle Club, they will be performing interesting manoeuvrers over objects both days.
Another back by popular demand on both days.

Benjamin Atkinson of Atkinson Action Horses began his stunt career at just 11 years old. Now aged 24, Benjamin and his father, Mark Atkinson, travel around Europe providing breathtaking displays and horses for film and TV work including Peaky Blinders, Poldark and Victoria.

Ash Rilings
Ashley has been riding Motorcycles since the age of 2 joining his mum in the Motorcycle Stunt World. He now performs breathtaking Stunts including BIG ramp jumps over cars, vans tractors, Monster trucks etc , trick riding, honda pilot buggy and Quad bike tricks. Plus a spectacular fire jump finale !!!!
Joe Curtis
Joe has a BMX background and is a very talented rider he can perform back flips, front flips and has even landed a double back flip he actually showcases some of his BMX skills in our display.
Joe is now taking to the motorcycles and rides the motocross roll bike in the show and is the only rider in the UK to perform a double roll.
Hayley "Fire Queen" Rilings
The Multi-talented Hayley "Fire Queen" has been entertaining the crowds for many years. 3 times British Motocross Champion, 7 times Weston Beach Race winner, Britain's TOP female Motorcycle Stunt Rider, Horse Stunt Rider and Pyro-maniac !!!! AND World Record holder !!!!!
Stunt Mania Show welcomes you to something completely different! Mother and Son Motorcycle Stunt Riders. Performing together they bring you some of the best non-stop explosive action with the "anything goes" Stunt Show. With breathtaking Motorcycle Stunts which include Awesome Ramp jumps, impressive trick riding and of course the crowd favourite raging FIRE STUNTS !




So from jumping over anything the team can get their hands on to riding through and running along on Fire the team has it all as well as the comedy situations the team constantly find themselves in ! They will have you roaring with laughter one minute and then excitedly wondering what on earth they are going to do next !
Other attractions include a Fun Dog Show on Sunday at 2.30 with Rose Sewel from Burton upon stather as the judge, Great to hear the rabbits are back, well done Ollie.
Live on the bandstand local band The Moggies.

Free car parking is available on the showground for vehicles entering via the Holmes Lane entrance. Please follow the signs for Showground from Ermine Street. If travelling from Scunthorpe on the A1077, follow show signs on show days rather than using the town centre.

Shuttle Bus Service
We have pleasure in providing a Free Shuttle Bus service (with disabled access) in Winterton for show weekend. Starting on Saturday the 4th July. From 11:00am – 5:00pm on both days. The Bus will pick up/drop off on route as the map shows. This will help those who live in Winterton who usually need a vehicle to get down to the show ground. So leave your car at home and use the free bus.
