he drag looked completely fine at first… until I pulled hard. Then the real problem showed up.

With a light pull, everything seemed normal. But under stronger pressure, the drag started releasing line unevenly.

This is the kind of hidden problem that can cost you a good fish.

Old grease, dirty drag washers, dried oil, salt, or stuck drag plates can make the drag feel jerky, stiff, or inconsistent when the pressure gets higher.

In this video, I open the drag system, inspect the washers, clean out the old grease, and check why the drag failed under pressure.

A reel drag should not only look fine — it needs to work smoothly when a fish pulls hard.

I TRIED FIXING THE MOST JAMMED REEL EVER... AND THIS HAPPENED

This fishing reel was so jammed that the handle was almost impossible to turn.

At first, it felt like something inside was completely locked.

Old grease, dried oil, dirt, rust, or stuck bearings can make a reel feel heavy, rough, and jammed after years of use or storage.

In this video, I open the reel, inspect the gears, check the bearings, remove old grease, and try to find the real cause of the problem.

Sometimes an old reel is not dead — it just needs patience, cleaning, and proper maintenance.

AFTER REMOVING ALL THE OLD GREASE… WILL THIS DAIWA REEL WORK AGAIN?

This old Daiwa reel was stiff, heavy, and difficult to turn.

Inside the reel, the old grease had dried out and stuck around the gears, shaft, bearings, and moving parts.

In this video, I remove the old hardened grease, clean the internal parts, apply fresh oil and grease, then test the reel again.

Sometimes an old fishing reel is not completely broken. It just needs proper cleaning, careful inspection, and fresh lubrication in the right places.

Will this Daiwa reel turn smooth again after cleaning?

HOW TO REMOVE OLD GREASE FROM A FISHING REEL

Old grease is one of the main reasons a fishing reel becomes stiff, heavy, or rough when turning the handle.

After years of use or storage, grease and oil inside the reel can dry out and harden around the gears, shaft, bearings, and moving parts.

Before adding new oil or grease, the old dirty lubricant needs to be cleaned out first. If you add fresh lubricant on top of old grease, the reel may still feel rough and heavy.

In this video, I open the reel, inspect the inside, remove the old grease, clean the internal parts, and prepare everything for fresh lubrication.

Sometimes the reel is not broken — it just needs proper cleaning and maintenance to feel smooth again.
