Getting a physical, handwritten thank-you card in the mail for a pair of vintage curtains from a buyer... honestly, it felt like a total wink from God.🥲
Let’s be real, this business is hard. It is physically taxing, it takes up an immense amount of time, and it can be deeply isolating. A lot of online sales are completely anonymous—just a name on a shipping label without a face or a real voice to talk to. Because I sell vintage and antiques, so many of these pieces carry real history and evoke memories of a past time or a special person. When I pack something up, I never truly know what it might mean to the person opening the box, or if it's just a pretty addition to their shelf.
My whole hope in doing this isn't just selling stuff—it's about delighting people and bringing a little happiness into their world. Sometimes I get messages from buyers who are so excited because they finally found something they’ve been searching for that they miss, and it genuinely makes me so happy. There is this incredible little connection we make, sometimes worlds apart, and I just think—
I often wish I could do this in person. I want to be able to hand someone a little treasure wrapped up to take home, get to see their face light up, and have a real, personal exchange. Maybe that will come to pass one day. I miss people!
I digress, but receiving an effort like this card means the absolute world to me. We are called to be the hands and feet of the church, and moments like this remind me of exactly what that means.

Hello Friends! It has been a little quiet around here on my pages lately, but I am still very much around. As a one-woman show, I've been juggling quite a bit behind the scenes, expanding my vintage and antique decor business across multiple platforms and even reaching buyers globally!
I am so excited to get back to my true roots—what I did for years before all of this—by upcycling, repurposing, and refinishing vintage furniture. I'm currently working on this lovely piece here, and I'm planning to transform the fabric into a rich, deep olive green and give the wood a soft, subtle gold finish rather than traditional stain.
I would love to hear your thoughts on this color combination! Can you spot the difference between sterling silver and silverplate in this collection? Surprise, there is only one solid silver piece here! None of these items are over $40, and most are closer to $20 and below. Coming up,I was always struggling maintaining a home. So buying brand-new, expensive decor simply was not an option. (And most of the new stuff out there never appealed to me anyway. It dosen't hold the attention to detail like the makers of yesterday.) I learned early on that my limitations were actually an invitation to be creative. I had to find ways to build a life that felt like mine while stretching every single dollar.
I share this because I know the weight of going it alone. I know what it is like to want your surroundings to offer you peace and beauty when everything else feels difficult. But here is the truth I’ve embraced: if a piece is beautiful to you, the brand name and the market value are secondary. True luxury is not found in a price tag, but in the joy of curating a space that reflects your own heart.

Decorating on a budget can be a fun, creative, satisfying way to own your story. You can achieve the look without the cost, and in doing so, you can create a home that feels like a sanctuary—humble, yet always filled with hope.
