Consider volunteering your time - and/or nominating someone you think would do a great job (with their consent) - to serve on the 2027 MCAS Executive Committee! Our first artist spotlight for our Holiday Sale is none other than the amazing Minna Azeem

Minna primarily makes functional pieces. When asked about the passion behind her craft, she responded, "Pottery is my way of relaxing and expressing my creative side. I love the process of shaping and creating each piece, sometimes even more than the finished result."

About our speaker:
Landrum professor Sandra Shore is obsessed with porcelain and for years made functional ceramics thrown on the potter’s wheel. Her current practice focuses on porcelain as a material that can be manipulated and formed by multiple processes: wheel throwing, hand building, and slip casting. This recent work allows her porcelain forms to interact with thrifted functional antiques, making for for a very free and energetic studio practice.

Seven South Carolina ceramic artists. Three days. One incredible celebration of clay, creativity, and connection.

Join us for the second year of Earth–Women–Fire, featuring the work of Anne Schultz, Betsy Kaemmerlen, Debbie Gregory, Diane Gilbert, Kirstin Dow, Lucy Bailey, and Marti Wallace.

This year's sale at Stormwater Studios will be open December 3-5, with artist setup on December 2nd. See the link in our bio, or use the link in your email to register!

Forms and payment are due by Wednesday, September 30, 2026 by 9:00 PM, however please note that the sale may fill before the deadline, and complete applications and booth preferences will be honored on a first-come-first-served basis.

📢Join us this coming Tuesday for our regular member meeting, featuring a September Swap + Guest Speaker, Lori Nelson 📢

About the Swap:
Need to cull through your clay stuff? Do you have clay tools, clay or glaze materials, etc. that are just taking up space? You are invited to bring your items to the meeting to swap/sell.
✅ Have your name on your items
✅ Transactions will be between individuals
✅ Those bringing items to swap are encouraged to arrive at 6:15 to lay things out

About our speaker:
Lori Nelson will share business and tax tips and answer your questions concerning how you do or would do business selling your pottery. This will be a discussion style presentation. Lori has an accounting degree and works in financial services, and has done volunteer work for VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance). She is married to a potter, Scott Nelson.

✨ PRINTING WITH AMACO CERAMIC INKS ✨

Spaces are filling up for this hands-on surface decoration workshop, and you won’t want to miss it!

Come experiment with AMACO Ceramic Inks and explore the possibilities of ceramic printmaking. You’ll learn how to create your own craft foam stamps and experiment with silk screens, stencils, and stamps on bisque tiles and slabbed clay.

Layer patterns and motifs, play with overlapping designs and color variation, and discover how transparent and semi-transparent glazes transform your printed surfaces. It’s a fun opportunity to experiment with texture, translucency, layering, and color and take your ideas in new directions!

🖌️ All materials provided, including inks, silk screens, craft foam, greenware, and bisque tiles for experimentation.
