Lockdown broke me a little, admittedly, from an emotional perspective. I haven’t seen any of my friends since February. It took 3 months before I had a hug again after struggling with a hella chest infection. I’ve had multiple panic attacks and breakdowns just from listening to the news and hype littered across social media. I’ve become so socially anxious and paranoid that going to a mall feels like I’m signing my own death certificate. BUT, lockdown has also shown me the power of hope. I’ve been given opportunity to embrace my creativity. I’ve had more time to focus on my own self-love and mental health. I’ve had the chance to nurture the friendships that truly matter. I’ve finally started learning a new language. I’ve been blessed with love, acceptance, laughter, tolerance and peace. Things most people have lost during this scary time, or have never found at all. And thanks Covid, because through the tears and the meltdowns, I also launched my own small business.
