We spent a day last week surveying the Sasquatch Scrambler - 6th annual and Woods Mountain - 6th annual race routes. We checked all of the trails out on the start/finish side of route 221. We're happy to report that everything is clear and in amazing shape except for the singletrack section of Woods Mountain Trail for the Woods Mountain route. We are making plans to get out ourselves to help clear this section. Our friends at G5 Trail Collective are also making plans to get over and work on this area as well. So rest assured, our routes will be good to go for us in June. The first section across route 221 will also need a little work just before we come out of the forest property and onto Good Road. Again, we will get this cleared as well. Looking forward to getting back in this area. If you've never ridden around the Woodlawn area, you really are missing out on a great part of Pisgah National Forest that a lot of people don't know about. www.bikereg.com/sasquatchwoods

ORAMM (Off Road Assault on Mt. Mitchell) update!!!

We've recently received word from the Blue Ridge Parkway that we will not be able to take our race on their road in 2026 even though the area we use is not damaged. The plan is for the section we use to be opened by the Fall of 2026, and they welcome our return in 2027.

So, what are we going to do for our 2026 route? Well, we have an idea that should be liked more than what we did in 2025. Pending approval, but our idea is to do a route similar to what our route is when using the parkway. We will get this up on our website soon but want to try and keep everyone in the loop the best that we can. You can expect to use the usual start up to Kitsuma, but now we will use Lower Heartbreak Ridge Trail and Rostan Trail to get over to Jarrett Creek Road. Don't worry though, we are not going to climb Deep Cove trail like we did in 2025.

Again, we will get all of this up on the website soon after we talk with the forest more about this new route since Lower Heartbreak has been rerouted and opened back up this week. Thanks to our friends at The G5 Trail Collective for their amazing work around the Old Fort area. These folks are doing amazing things and had a lot of extra work thrown at them from Hurricane Helene.

We've extended our event jersey deadline for the 2026 Pisgah Stage Race till Sunday, March 1st at noon. Register before then to guarantee yourself an event jersey with the 2026 race.

We have a bunch of these at BRA/PSR HQ already and are offering them for sale to the folks that can't make it this year. These would ship immediately after purchasing. Go to the registration page (link below) and scroll down to the merchandise section till you see the jersey option. We will ship the jersey to the address that you have on your BikeReg. Good news and bad news for the 2026 Dirt Diggler Gravel Grinder. The good news, our singletrack ending is back this year. That might be bad news for some people though. lol. The really bad news though, we will no longer get to experience the beautiful cabin at the end of the route. Extensive water damage from Hurricane Helene to the cabin along with the retaining wall and bridge in front of the cabin makes it unsafe to use this area. Not sure what the future holds for that area of the property, but we know that it will never be the same. Hopefully some kind of clean up can bring back this part of the course so we'll keep good thoughts for this.

It’s the boring part of the year here at BRA HQ. Working on permits, buying insurance, designing race shirts, designing and printing race plates. Etc. You never really know how much goes into putting on a race till you actually run one yourself. This is no complaint as we love what we do. Just a I should’ve listened to some friends when I first started this in 2018 (My original brand, not BRA). 😂

We won't have a Pisgah Triple Crown Series race till June, but our sister company, Trans-Sylvania Productions will have the first race of the series with the Uwharrie MTB Challenge on Saturday, February 21st. We hope that you will join us in less than two weeks and kick off our great series. Many series prizes to race for from our sponsors. Industry Nine wheel sets, FOX forks and dropper posts. We also have race credit for the Pisgah Stage Race or the Trans-Sylvania Epic Stage Races (MTB or Gravel Stage Racing).

Registrations are now open for the Couch Potato, Swank 65, and the Pisgah Triple Crown Series Bulk Discount. Exciting new route for Swank 65 out of the Cove Creek Campground in 2026. More to come on that route soon once we finalize it.

So, we finally have approval for the Couch Potato and Swank 65 races!!! So very sorry that it has taken this long. We're updating everything now as quick as we can so we can open registration tomorrow morning (2/6/26) at 9:00 AM! We will also have the series bulk discount open as well.

We're excited for Swank 65 as we'll have a new route in 2026 out of the Cove Creek Group Campground. Still finalizing the route but you should expect trails like Cove Creek, Daniel Ridge and Butter Gap in the route. Couch Potato will stay the same out of the Black Mountain Trailhead. Going to be an epic end of the season with two different routes in different areas of the Pisgah Ranger District.

The Pisgah Stage Race is just a few months away. This event draws racers from all over the country and the world. Folks, I'm soooo sorry that it's towards the end of January and we have not opened Couch Potato, Swank 65 and the Pisgah Triple Crown bulk series discount registrations. We've been getting questions on this so want to give an update.

We try to do things the right way with how the forest requires and this year it's costing us with the government shutdown, holiday season and our request to change the Swank 65 route (More to come on that if it gets approved. Let's just say, it's not in the same location as the Couch Potato.). I've been asking for updates and have been hopeful I'd hear something this week but nothing so far.

We have asked for November 7th and 8th for these two events. So, save those dates. I don't see those dates being an issue. Once I get approval, we will get the registrations opened up right away. I know a lot of you have been waiting to register in the bulk discount for the series and again, very sorry for the delay.
