JUST RIDE... you guys absolutely showed up. 💚🚲

For our very first one, we honestly couldn’t have asked for more.
Families everywhere, kids on bikes, parents riding alongside them, medals, boerie rolls, huge smiles, a few very proud little faces at the finish... and a whole lot more people than we expected for round one. 😂

A massive thank you to Meyersdal Nature Estate for allowing us to host the day in such a beautiful space, and an equally big thank you to every family who joined us and treated the estate with such respect. You rode, you laughed, you cleaned up after yourselves, and you helped make the whole day feel exactly the way we hoped it would.

To every participant, parent, grandparent, supporter, crew member and helping hand behind the scenes, thank you. You made the first Just Ride a proper success.

Hard to believe that at a point in cycling history nobody knew this bike existed. 🚲

A few years ago, Orbea retired a cyclocross bike called the Terra. Then they noticed that the people riding their cross bikes weren't racing them. They were out on dirt roads all day, with a bottle, a snack and nowhere to be. Anyone who's done a farm road loop on a Saturday knows that feeling.

So the Terra came back as a gravel bike.

Then came Kenya. Dawn in the Maasai Mara, dust in the air, four hard stages, and a brand-new bike nobody had seen yet rolling up to the start line.

Two riders won every stage between them. On stage three, Lukas Baum crashed, got up, and rode away to win it solo. There was no launch event and no announcement. Just a bike and a rider with a story that refused to not be heard.

Those low centre k***s keep things moving on hardpack, gravel and dry trails. The shoulder k***s give you grip when you lean it over. Add a 67 TPI casing and ADDIX compound, and you’ve got a proper XC and marathon tyre at a very lekker price.

1840. Still doing things their own way.

Orbea has officially arrived at Bike Barn, and this is one of those bikes that makes US stop walking for a second. 😮‍💨

Born in the Basque Country, the brand has spent more than 180 years making, racing and evolving without losing its independent streak. In 1969, when closure threatened the company, the workforce took ownership and turned Orbea into a cooperative, literally taking responsibility for its future.

🚴‍♂️ The wait is over… the Tour de France is BACK! 🟡

Three weeks. Twenty-one stages. The biggest names in cycling. One yellow jersey.

Stage 1 gets underway today with a 19.6km Team Time Trial through the streets of Barcelona, where teamwork matters just as much as power. Every second counts, and the first gaps in the General Classification can be made from the very first kilometre.
