As warmer days approach, the community is being urged to kindly donate pre-loved items to support ongoing palliative care services.
With Spring fast-approaching, our charity shop staff is calling on residents to take part in a seasonal collection drive, encouraging households across Alberton to clear out unused clothing, furniture, books, crockery and household items in support of local hospice care. The initiative comes at a time when many households traditionally use the change in season to declutter and refresh their homes.
Rather than discarding unwanted but still usable items, the hospice is encouraging the community to donate them, allowing each piece to find a new home while directly funding compassionate care for patients and families facing life-limiting illnesses.
The Stepping Stone Hospice Charity Shop, based at Stats Building, 2 Fore Street in New Redruth, has long relied on donated goods to sustain its retail operation, with proceeds channelled toward the organisation's palliative care services. As a five-star, COHSASA-accredited hospice, Stepping Stone Hospice provides specialised care to patients and their families throughout the Alberton area.
The warm season presents an ideal opportunity for residents to give unused items a second life while making a meaningful contribution. Items in good, sellable condition including clothing, furniture, books, crockery and household goods are welcomed.
