I fished a winter club comp at Kees - Vaaldam on Saturday.

I made it to the venue with the grace from above and with a few skid marks in my underpants because I could hardly see anything in front of me with the fog on the road. I made a mistake and sprayed my windows with the wiper fluid which iced up my windows 🫣

The rods were dead quiet until 10:00 a.m. because then the fog started to lift and my feet "defrosted" in my waders.

I had 3 fish in the net at weigh-in but couldn't weigh them because the cold effected the scale as it didn't want to work. We could only get points for the number of fish which still gave me a 1st place among the Masters.

Combo 1:
•JULIASS, KIANA SPRAY & sq**rt PAINT SPRAY on the bomb

Hook bait:
•2 KIANA OOZING FLOATIES
•KARIBA WORM with a DREK OOZING FLOATY and small SWD above the Worm

Combo 2:
•ANABATIC, AGMED and a sq**rt PAINT SPRAY on the bomb

Hook bait:
•2 KIANA OOZING FLOATIES
•KARIBA WORM with a BASS + FLOATY (which I made myself) and a small SWD above the worm

Feed:
•3 x cups LL SIGNATURE SERIES GROUND FEED mixed with half a cup LL SIGNATURE SERIES FEEDER FEED and half a cup LL SIGNATURE SERIES GRIT with 1 and a half of cups water.

I fished Club Comp at Jackie Leonard this past weekend.

During the day it was warm but as soon as the sun went down it got very 🥶.

Jackie delivered and I managed to weigh in 40 🐟 for 11.795 kg which earned me a 1st place under the Masters 💪

I fished Club Comp the weekend at Kollege Plaas (River Side)

The weather was great but when the sun went down the "mozzies" came out to feed. I looked like a "Vaseline Baby" with all the Tabat on but it did not stop them 🫣

Tried different combos but there was only one combo that worked best.

Came 2nd in the Masters with 15 fish for 9.070 kg

Combo:
• BASS + & CARAMEL + (XF)

Hook bait:
• CARAMEL XF AIROS with SWD
• HALF a SNAKE WORM with SWG OOZING FLOATY and peace of SWD above the Worm

Feed:

I fished Club Comp at Ardenza last weekend.

It was raining on and off Friday afternoon and Friday night. I caught a Carpie, Large Mouth Yellow and Small Mouth Yellow during the Friday Social Barbel Comp on Barbel bait but no Barbel 🫣.

The official Club Comp started Saturday morning. During the day it was warm however the wind started pumping Saturday night trough to Sunday morning.

I managed to get 1st place under the Masters with 31 fish for 9.370 kg.

It was a lekker comp even though it was hot as hell 🥵.

I brought Bella, my new "Pegmate", with and she made sure that I landed the fish correctly each time 😂

I came 1st under the Masters with 39 🐟 for 11,685 kg

Combo 1:
R2K & KING KONG

Hook bait:
•RAPTOR OOZING FLOATY with SWD
•KARIBA WORM with PINK GARLIC OOZING FLOATY

Combo 2:
Plain bomb

Hook bait:
•Half a SNAKE WORM with DREK OOZING FLOATY and a small SWD above the worm dipped in JULIASS

I fished Club Comp with The Alberton Angling Club the past weekend at Jan Se Plek Vaalriver side.

The wind was pumping and the waves were bashing on the bank on Friday which was ideal for the Social Barbel Comp.

My Pegmate, Anrich's reel, started screaming just after 03:00 Saturday morning. After about a half an hour battle, he managed to land his PB 10.420 kg Large Mouth Yellow 😱. What an amazing fish. The Large Mouth Yellow was safely released before Anrich went to change his underpants 😜.

I landed my 1st Barbel just before 04:00 and my second one around 04:30 which weighed 8.380 kg. Used UK Ming and Barber Apex on the Barbel Bait.

The official Club Comp started Saturday morning and the bite tempo was non existent like the wind throughout the day.

I caught the majority of my fish Sunday morning.

Only one combo was successful:
• Clean Bomb (No dips)

Hook baits:
•2 Raptor Hard Floats
•2 Pink Garlic Oozing Floats

I fished Club Comp at Last Farm - Vaaldam the past weekend.

Friday night I fished in our Social Barbel Comp with a heavy wind pumping. I started off with Snake Worms dipped in Barber/ Apex and Fruity Krill and landed a nice carp which I released straight away seeing that it was a Barbel Comp.

I then used a Crab as bait which I sprayed with U. K. Ming and within 30 min my reel was creaming. I landed a Barbel of just over 5kg.

The official club comp started Saturday morning with overcast weather conditions and wind pumping 🙈

The bite tempo was very slow.

I managed to land 7 fish (all carps) for 8.035 kg.

I tried various combos however the combos that delivered more fish were:

Combo 1:
•G - Sting and B.G.

Hoek bait:
•PINK OOZING FLOATY with SWD
•SNAKE WORM cut in half with SWD above the Worm

Combo 2:
•G - STING and B. G.

Hoek bait:
•FLYING ANTS dipped in U. K. MING
•SLANG WORM cut in half with SWD above the Worm and dipped in BARBER/APEX

Feed:
• 2 and a half cups LL SIGNATURE SERIES feed with half a cup LL SIGNATURE SERIES FEEDER feed and half a cup white Mielie Rice with 1 cup of water

Distances:
Both rods open spool due to the wind.

Rigs:
•Sliding Bottom when the wind was pumping.
•Sliding Rietvlei with Micro Spring and Bokkie Sinker when the wind calmed down.

I fished club comp at Ardenza Vaaldam.

I landed 3 Barbel, one of each other, in our Friday Night Social Barbel Comp with Barbel Bait dipped in Barber/Apex and Fruity Krill

The official comp started Saturday morning with a "Vaaldam South - Easter" wind blowing us skew 💨

We were greeted with a massive wind storm on Saturday night which caused damage to gazebos and blew away anything that was not tied down 🙈

We finished earlier on Sunday morning as lightning and troublesome clouds were on its way to us 🙈

I managed to get a 2nd place in the Masters with 11 fish for 9.815 kg

I fished Club Comp this past Saturday at Kleinplaas Vaaldam.

The fishing was better than the road to the dam. We had early morning mist on the road and at one stage the road disappeared and we had to swerve out for craters (moerse potholes) 😱.

I had to change my underwear when I eventually got to the dam 🙈.

Weighed in 3 fish for 3.425kg

I fished Club Comp at Flamingo Bay - Vaaldam on Saturday.

We sat far left of the venue in shallow water. If you fished a shallow rod you had to squash your floaty flat so that it didn't stick out above the water 😉.

The only way to get close to the fish was to cast your "p**p string" off.

Later the in the day I saw a little boat being idle on the other side. Took out my "far lookers" and saw people pulling out nets 😥.

I managed to weigh in 3 fish for 2.24kg.
