En dit is van toepassing op alles in die lewe!!!
Sadly, it's no longer about the sport, it's about people and their egos. Wanting to brag every time we play and say that we won, but also just shouting from the comfort of your couch & insulting players like Manie Libbok.
I think people are forgetting that Manie Libbok is 1 of 28 players but some people want to blame 1 man for the loss of an entire team on 1 game. Thank you Manie for not making up excuses for your missed kick but for continuing to learn from mistakes & get back in the game.
Rassie is a smart man. He knows Libbok will benefit from playing these games more. Rassie has said “Although it will be tough, we want to see what these players can do in such a pressure-cooker of a game"
On Manie missing the last kick Rassie said He kicked well the whole week and kicked so well in the warm-up, he slotted everything but it’s pressure but the game shouldn’t have gone down to the wire of one man kicking it over."
You know why? Because he understands that rugby is not just about 1 man or 1 kick, it's a collective effort and he also understands that people will blame Manie but he knows Manie shouldn't blame himself & should do better after getting more exposure in the games. That is the difference between a great coach and some people that are sitting on their couch being a negative & ugly person. There were comments about Manie & his mother being sworn & him being referred to as a hotnot. It's really unfortunate that some people behave like this. Grown men & women... adults that apparently have children of their own. I feel sorry for their kids to have such s**t parents who speak bad about others. You deserve to be there Manie. You make us proud. We love you and thank you for all your hard work. You are only 27 years and playing for the national team. That is an achievement in itself. I remember when we congratulated the Bafana Bafana squad on 1 game people were so negative. But I said, it's fine, sometimes it takes ONE game to make the difference. Sometimes you have 99 bad games & then the 100th game wins the finals. By that time you are mature, developed, grown in your skill. David Beckham was the most hated man in England in 1998. His red card against Argentina sparked outrage across England. The very same people that put him there, was now spitting on him, calling him all sorts of names & making threats to him in public. For the next two years Becks was booed in stadiums across the country. Can you imagine the hypocrisy from people? Can u imagine the pain David felt. People hung a mascot with a rope bearing the famous number 7 tshirt. Funny enough, it was also a game against Argentina that Beckham was given a red card & was then bullied online & in public. He suffered depression for a long time because of that. But thankfully, he bounced back with the support of his family, couch, teammates. He retired more than 10 years ago but still considered one of the most successful football players of all time. He's done many endorsements, open his own football club & does appearances. The point is, as spectators to sports, we should never be in a position to make someone so miserable they are depressed and want to die. We should never ever speak down to our own people. We must never reduce a good player down to one game.
It's not only unfair but makes us look bad.
Manie, please don't mind what the armchair critics have to say about you because we are proud of you. May you never forget your skill, talent. May you never forget how far you have come. Don't forget the streets you come from that needs more Manie Libboks. Our children are watching you and see hope. They see themselves in you. May you never forget the love your country has for you.
